'Captain America 3' Will Face 'Batman vs. Superman' in May of 2016
Ever since Warner Bros. decided to move Batman vs. Superman to a May 6th, 2016 release date, people have been wondering whether or not Marvel would move their previously staked out mystery film from that same date. Well, earlier today, SlashFilm had word from Marvel's Kevin Feige that they wouldn't be budging in the potential box office battle, and an announcement as to what film would fill that slot would be coming in the next few months. Now THR has learned that it will be the gestating Captain America 3 that will arrive in May of 2016. Yes, Captain America will face off against The Big Blue Boy Scout. More below!
This makes sense since January brought news that Anthony & Joe Russo, directors of Captain America: The Winter Soldier, would be back to direct Captain America 3, and the duo was already working on a treatment for the sequel. Marvel has been the king of dominating the first May weekend for years now, but we'll see if they have the momentum to beat the first film to have Batman and Superman together on the big screen. Some bumps in production for either film could cause a delay, but as of now, both Disney and Warner Bros. are standing firm with their release dates. That's going to be a fun weekend for sure.

Someone will move. They screw each other if one doesnt move.

Marvel had this date first, before DC pushed back Batman vs Superman.

That's a long time away. One of those movies will eventually move off that date. It makes no sense for two movies that big (and with the exact same target audience) to release on the same weekend. That early May slot worked well for the Iron Man films, but in general Marvel movies seem to do well no matter when they are released. And frankly, WB doesn't need to be there either given that TDK Trilogy and Man of Steel did great business opening in June/July.

This was a purely jerk move by DC, but now if Marvel doesn't budge they both lose money as a result.

Sounds like an awesome double feature to me.

If I have to choose, it's Cap. Not a fan of where Warner Brothers is going with DC after seeing MAN OF STEEL.

Eh both aren't exactly exciting to be honest. Jessie Eisenberg as Lex Luthor? Yeah screw that cringe-worthy performance.

Doesn't matter they got the guy who likes to screw in uncomfortable places as batman.

I dont see how this matters much. They're two different entities. Also, its highly unlikely that they will come out on the same day, and if they're in the same month, so what. I will still make and effort to watch both when they release.
