In the Heart of the Sea

"Say you're scared!" When people go whale watching, they tend to be disappointed, so much that the hobby should probably just be called boat sitting. But back in 1820, a whaling ship had no trouble finding the giant sea mammals. In fact, they found one that they simply could not escape. In the Heart of the Sea is the tale of Moby Dick, and the encounter the Essex had with the massive sperm whale at sea. Chris Hemsworth leads his crew with unfathomable courage as the crew is forced to drift for more than ninety days in three tiny whaleboats, succumbing to weather, hunger, disease, and the monster himself. Watch it!

Here's the new trailer for Ron Howard's In the Heart of the Sea, originally from Apple:

The whale's hugeness is pretty amazing, but the film itself looks like the tired old "out-to-sea" tale....nothing can top Jaws in my book.

I thought Orca (1977) was pretty good, but yeah nothing can top Jaws!

Lagoya on Dec 23, 2014

HA! I almost mentioned Orca! That's a great film....although I watched it just recently and it really does not stand the test of time....also the special effects are totally cheesy.

Well I remember it from watching it as a kid, and I enjoyed it then, but maybe I won't watch it again to spoil the memory lol

That whale scene looks cool.

First Rush, and now this. Howard is looking at a real comeback!

Nielsen700 on Dec 22, 2014

Comeback? Did he have a string of bad films that the rest of us are not aware of? Wait, he hasn't been making films under the name "M. Night Shyamalan" has he??

kevjohn on Dec 23, 2014

Excluding Frost/Nixon, he hasn't made a good film since A Beautiful Mind...

Nielsen700 on Dec 23, 2014

This second trailer looks like a hot mess. First trailer was structured better.
