Dayo Okeniyi Takes 'Terminator' Role, So John Boyega in 'Star Wars'?
Just recently, we learned that Attack the Block star John Boyega was up for a role in Terminator: Genesis. The role was that of the son of Miles Dyson, the Cyberdyne executive forced to help destroy the Terminator arm and CPU that would make the company a future threat. However, Boyega was also up for a role in Star Wars: Episode VII, and he couldn't do both roles. Now it sounds like Boyega is closer to entering a galaxy far, far away as Variety reports The Hunger Games star Dayo Okeniyi (he played Thresh) will take the role of the Dyson son in the film from Thor: The Dark World director Alan Taylor. Read on!
While this is hardly confirmation that Boyega has taken a role in Star Wars, the actor was said to be one of five actors up for a lead male role, so it would make sense if he chose one sci-fi saga over the other. Either way, we're still not clear what role Boyega might take in Star Wars or how involved Okeniyi's role in Terminator: Genesis will actually be in the film that kicks off a new trilogy and is said to shake up the previous universe a lot. There's a lot of big moves in both 2015 blockbusters being made, so stay tuned.
