It's been four years since we've had a new film from director Alejandro Amenábar, and before Agora, the last film he directed was The Sea Inside in 2004. Now the filmmaker is coming back with a new thriller called Regression at The Weinstein Company, and they've just announced that Emma Watson (Harry Potter, The Bling Ring) will lead the film, and she'll be joined by Before Midnight and The Purge star Ethan Hawke. The film is set for release sometime in 2015 by TWC-Dimension, but the storyline is being kept under wraps at this time, though we at least know Amenábar wrote the screenplay himself. Read on!
This isn't the first time Amenábar has hit Dimension with a genre film since he also directed The Others in 2001, and that became a pretty decent horror hit. With the standard publicity fluff, the director says, "Emma is a beautiful, humane, sensitive and very talented woman, and I feel very fortunate to be working with her. I'm sure that her long-standing stellar career has barely begun" Meanwhile, the actress said, "I am passionate about Alejandro and his work and am so happy to be collaborating with him. I'm really excited by the challenge my character presents to me as an actress. I can't wait to begin." Thoughts?
