First Trailer for Fantastic Fest Horror 'Afflicted' Brings Thrills & Chills

March 4, 2014

In what looks to be a horror spin on the superpowered found footage hit Chronicle, the first trailer for the Fantastic Fest selected film Afflicted has arrived, and it's pretty intense. We're not sure why the trailer has a reverse chronology (unless the film does as well), but this story seems pretty cool. The film from Derek Lee and Clif Prowse (who also star in the film) follows a group of friends who are thrown for a loop when one of them suddenly develops superhuman abilities after a one night stand with a woman in Paris. Fantastic Fest gave the film Best Picture, Best Screenplay and Best Director, where our own Tim Buel praised the film after Alex loved it at TIFF last year too, so this must be a pretty damn good flick. Watch!

Here's the first trailer for Derek Lee and Clif Prowse's Afflicted, originally from Apple:

Afflicted is written and directed by Derek Lee and Clif Prowse, who also star in the found footage horror film which follows two best friends who set out on the trip of a lifetime around the world. Their journey, documented every step of the way, soon takes a dark and unexpected turn after an encounter with a beautiful woman in Paris leaves one of them mysteriously afflicted. The film premiered at TIFF 2013 and played Fantastic Fest, but CBS Films releases the film on iTunes and in theaters on April 4th. Interested?
