Get Weird & Grossed Out with First Trailer for German 'Wetlands'

While there isn't any straight-up nudity or profanity, we're going to call this trailer NSFW just based on content alone. The German indie Wetlands has already played at Sundance and SXSW, and it's definitely a shocking, gross out comedy, but not in the way that Jackass or American Pie have hit audiences. This one is much more gross, weird and dare we say sexy? The story follows a teenage girl, who doesn't believe in hygiene and masturbates with weird things, forced to spend some time in a hospital after her haphazard shaving techniques result in an anal lesion. This looks peculiar and funny, but in such a wrong way. Watch?

Here's the first trailer for David Wnendt's Wetlands straight from Strand Releasing:

Wetlands is directed by David Wnendt, who also co-wrote the script with Claus Falkenberg and Sabine Pochhammer. 18-year-old Helen Memel (Carla Juri) likes to skateboard, masturbate with vegetables and thinks that body hygiene is greatly overrated. Struggling with her parents’ divorce, she spends her time experimenting and breaking one social taboo after the other with her best friend, Corinna (Marlen Kruse). When a shaving accident lands her in the hospital, she sees it as a way to reconcile with her parents, but ends up forming an unlikely bond with her male nurse, Robin (Christoph Letkowski) in the process. The film premiered at the 2014 Sundance Film Festival and hits limited theaters on September 5th. Gross?

looks great, im at least a movie i will watch with my GF and not have to play my PS Vita ... since mainly we watch date movies, that are so BS, this is a date movie grounded in life of a free loving hipster in her youth...

Terrible film saw this last year and it's so pretentious it's not even funny.

That's all I needed to hear to take this off of my list.

  • I'm in. Makes a refreshing change from the glut of tedious horror, zombie and end of the world dystopian movies about lately. The world need a good dose of German perversion - everyone seems so uptight.
