Gillian Anderson Badly Wants Role in Paul Feig's 'Ghostbusters' Reboot
Thanks to "The X-Files," there's no doubt that Gillian Anderson will always be one of the most prominent females in the genre of science fiction. However, since she's not so busy tracking conspiracies, aliens and other strange cases, she's looking to enter the world of the paranormal. Anderson just recently took part in a Reddit AMA (via THR) and was asked whether or not she was interested in the all-female Ghostbusters reboot that's in the works from director Paul Feig and his The Heat writer Katie Dippold. Surely every female actress in Hollywood is hungry for a role in the film, and Anderson revealed that she's no different.
In answer to the fans question, Anderson exploded in a fury of excitement and exclamation points, ""OH MY GOD, I just looked it up online. Paul Feig, cast me now! Start a Twitter petition! I'm free!!!!! I'm free I'm free and I'm funny, goddamnit!" Anderson isn't well-known for her comedy, but she seems like a good enough actress to make it work. One fan even offered to start a petition and Anderson was all about it saying, "MAKE IT HAPPEN!!" We doubt Anderson will end up with a role, especially since there's so many talented female comedy stars out there. Do you want Gillian Anderson in Ghostbusters?
