Captain America: The Winter Soldier

One of the earliest acclaimed blockbusters of the year was Captain America: The Winter Soldier, and it's been available on Blu-Ray and DVD for awhile. However, one of the things you may not have found in the extras on the home video release was this impressive visual effects reel from Industrial Light & Magic. By now, you know that much of what we see in the big action sequences in Marvel Studios' films is not real, with visual effects creating all the unbelievable things you're seeing brought to life on-screen. With this particular movie, it's moreso the meticulous creation of the destruction that's incredible. Watch below!

Here's the visual effects reel for Captain America: The Winter Soldier from ILM:

Captain America: The Winter Soldier is directed by Anthony & Joe Russo ("Community" and "Arrested Development") with a script from Christopher Markus & Stephen McFeely (Captain America: The First Avenger, Thor: The Dark World). Chris Evans reprises his role as Captain America, still struggling to adjust to present day life, when a powerful new enemy emerges. Scarlett Johansson also returns in the film as S.H.I.E.L.D. agent Natasha Romanoff along with Anthony Mackie, Emily VanCamp, Robert Redford, Frank Grillo and Sebastian Stan. Disney released the film in theaters this year and it's now on Blu-Ray and DVD.

Jeez...ILM is so impressive. I want them to make a fully animated film so bad! That STRANGE MAGIC films looks so beautiful, but a terrible film. // Their touch on SPONGE BOB looks amazing though.

ILM never fails to deliver. Even if the movie is a dud, their work never is.
