Traitors Indie Trailer Sunday

If you are a hammer - strike. How's that for a tagline? Today's trailer is for a film called Traitors made by American actor-turned-filmmaker Sean Gullette, who played mathematician Maximillian Cohen in Darren Aronofsky's Pi back in 1998. Gullette writes, produces and directs this film about an all-girl punk rock band from Morocco. Newcomer Chaimae Ben Acha stars as Malika in the film, who befriends Amal played by Soufia Issami as they take on a smuggling job to make some money to keep the band together. The film premiered at the 2013 Venice Film Festival, also playing at the Tribeca, Marrakesh, Dubai, Stockholm and Denver Film Festivals. It actually looks pretty good, there's a lot of heart and soul captured in this. Check it.

Here's the first official trailer for Sean Gullette's Traitors, direct from Film Movement's YouTube:

Traitors is both written, directed & produced by Sean Gullette. Synopsis: Malika, leader of Traitors, an all-female punk rock band, has a strong vision of the world, her hometown of Tangier, and her place in it. When she needs money to save her family from eviction and to realize her dreams for the band, Malika agrees to a fast cash proposition: a smuggling run over the mountains for a dangerous drug dealer. But her companion on the road is Amal, a burnt-out young drug mule who Malika decides to free from her enslavement to the dangerous drug dealers. The challenge will put Malika's rebel ethos to the test, and to survive she will have to call on all her instincts and nerve. Film Movement / RAM Releasing will debut Traitors on VOD starting on December 23rd before DVD next February. For more info visit their website.

I think that women are the force that will change Muslim world, Muslim countries, Muslim societies.... Man in those cultures are weak and therefore violent ... Which is one of the reason I like films like this...
