Jai Courtney

Just over a week ago, we learned that the role of Kyle Reese in the franchise reboot Terminator: Genesis would be played by either A Good Day to Die Hard star Jai Courtney or rising actor Boyd Holbrook, who will be seen in Gone Girl later this year. Well, Paramount and Skydance Productions have made their decision, and Variety reports it will be Courtney taking the role of the future revolution hero who was sent back in time to save Sarah Connor in the original James Cameron film. Since plot details are under wraps, it's not clear how Reese will be involved with the story, but the role is said to span at least a couple films.

Courtney joins a couple Clarkes in the sci-fi reboot since "Game of Thrones" actress Emilia Clarke is on board as Sarah Connor and Jason Clarke is on board as her son John Connor. In addition, we know Arnold Schwarzenegger is returning in some capacity as well with Thor: The Dark World helmer Alan Taylor in the director's chair. Personally, I can't say that I'm thrilled with Courtney's casting since he's one of the most bland young actors working today, but maybe he can do well in this new stand alone trilogy. Thoughts?

They have to let this shit die. They gotta stop doing reboots so often when a movie bombs.

...what a waste of time, money, resources, etc... Do we really need a reboot of the Terminator? They're milking this cow to death.

"Do we really need a reboot of the Terminator?" This is how the studio sees it: "Do we want to make $0 or $100+ million..." "Sir, people on the internet are saying we're milking the franchise!" "You're right! SHUT DOWN EVERYTHING!"

Axalon - Thank you for enlightening the people on the internet, but I believe we all know why they make sequels, prequels, re-boots and movies that look just like other movies. We also know that for the most part, they're all total crapfests and far inferior to the source material.

Haters and nerdtards should simply wait until we see a trailer for jumping to conclusions.

Ok... I no longer care about this movie. I wanted to care, but the entire cast is all wrong. The only thing I like about this film, is the director... and that's only because I enjoyed Thor: The Dark World. Here's hoping that the trailer will make up for my fears, but in my book... this francise is dead, or died after T2.
I will give Courtney a 2nd chance. This could still work people!

Jai was a badass in Jack Reacher, so shut the hate gates.

Yeh I think he was way better in that than AGD2DH.

He was great in Spartacus: Blood and Sand too.

Yeah, this is going to rock. Great cast, great writer's, and a great director.

Courtney is good, but this latest movie reboot sucks.
  • cuckoozey
Yeah, let's come up with a brand new sci-fi idea instead thanks.

When you want reboot something Unique , you need Unique Minds , isn't It? Lame Director. Cast not so important for me. Director and his passion is everything. Robert Patric is average actor but in Terminator 2 he creates iconic role. Terminator is one of best cinematic action scifi ever made. This franchise deserves more.

Now jai is a good actor but I don't see him as a Kyle Reese he just doesn't have the face for it . Boyd looks better but shit . I am a huge terminator fan with hundreds of terminator comics and movies along with books . So I know my terminator . Anton and Michael are legends doing Kyle Reese . I Just hope Arnold doesn't fuck up the movie
