Leslie Mann to Play Audrey Griswold in New Line's 'Vacation' Reboot
After New Line's reboot of the comedy classic National Lampoon's Vacation gained a superhero in Chris Hemsworth and a cameo appearance by Charlie Day (reteaming with his Horrible Bosses writers John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein, directing this time), the supporting cast continue to fill out. THR reports Leslie Mann (This is 40, The Other Woman) is now in talks to play Audrey Griswold, brother of Rusty Griswold (Ed Helms) who is all grown up and taking his own family on the kind of road trip that his parents (Chevy Chase and Beverly D'Angelo) took the family on when they were just kids. More below!
Audrey was played by Dana Barron in the original 1983 film, but was played by a different actress in every sequel that followed (it became a running gag in the films). As we learned previously, Hemsworth would be playing an anchorman named Stone Crandall who is married to Audrey. We're anticipating that Rusty and his family are making a stop at Audrey's house while on their vacation, but we're not sure. Mann has proven to be a decent comedic actress outside of appearing in her husband Judd Apatow's films every few years. Stay tuned to see who else joins the road trip comedy.
