Liam Hemsworth & Woody Harrelson Reunite for 'Helena' Western
This fall we'll see Woody Harrelson and Liam Hemsworth together as part of the revolution against The Capitol in The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part I, but outside of the sci-fi franchise, they'll reunite again. Deadline has word that the two co-stars will head into a completely different genre with By Way Of Helena, a western revenge thriller from Australian director Kieran Darcy-Smith (Wish You Were Here) from a script by Matt Cook that made the Black List in 2009. Hemsworth will lead the film as an 1880 Texas Ranger sent to a small, isolated town on the frontier to investigate a series of mysterious murders.
Meanwhile, Harrelson will play a local preacher named Abraham who keeps the townsfolk in fear for some reason. Helena will begin production in September before the two stars go off to start promoting the first chapter of the two-part finale in The Hunger Games franchise, which just unveiled an ominous viral video for the November 21st release. Hemsworth has yet to have a breakthrough lead performance since Paranoia didn't garner much acclaim, but maybe a lower key film like this will let him shine and rise to the same star status as his comic book superhero brother Chris Hemsworth.
