Pets Movie / Louis C.K.

Just last week, Kevin Hart was linked to DreamWorks Animation's adaptation of the favorite children's book series Captain Underpants and now he's got another animated flick lined up with a fellow stand-up comedian. Deadline has word that Hart and Louis C.K. will lend their voices to Illumination Entertainment's Untitled Pets Movie hitting theaters on February 12th, 2016. The film follows a quick-witted terrier rescue (Louis C.K.) who gets agitated when his master brings home a sloppy mongrel named Duke (Eric Stonestreet). But things get worse when the two dogs find themselves stuck in the streets of New York City, until they meet a new animal friend who might cause more trouble than expected. Read on!

Kevin Hart is voicing a bunny named Snowball, the leader of an army of pets who were abandoned and are now determined to get back at humanity and every owner-loving pet. It's up to our dog heroes to stop them and get back to their comfy apartment for dinner. Despicable Me director Chris Renaud will direct the film with co-director Yarrow Cheney (who has a short on the eventual home video release of The Minions). I'm not so sure about the plot, but Illumination seems to know what they're doing. The animation studio has The Minions arriving July 10th, 2015, a mystery project in Christmas of 2016, Despicable Me 3 in the summer of 2017, and a new How The Grinch Stole Christmas around the holidays in 2017.
