Martin Lawrence Says 'Bad Boys 3' is Finally Very Close to Happening
Development on Bad Boys 3 at Sony Pictures has been dragging along since as far back as 2009. The studio hired The Town scribe Peter Craig five years ago to write the script, but as recently as this past winter, they decided to commission a new script from Safe House writer David Guggenheim. But since then, we haven't heard anything about the project coming to fruition, which is just par for the course. However, Martin Lawrence appeared on "Conan" last night where he was asked about the sequel by Conan O'Brien, and thankfully the star had some good news, giving us hope that he will reteam with Will Smith again.
Here's the video of Martin Lawrence on "Conan" last night from Team Coco:
If you don't feel like watching, when asked about the potential for Bad Boys 3 finally coming together, Lawrence simply said, "I believe so, yes. I just talked to Jerry Bruckheimer yesterday and he said its real. They’re working on the script, they’re getting close and it all looks good." This isn't the first time Lawrence has started hype about the film, and since his career isn't doing as well as Will Smith's, he probably doesn't feel the need to get back on the Bad Boys train right now. Of course, it would be something cool for Michael Bay to do after delivering the garbage that was Transformers: Age of Extinction. We'll just have to wait and see if Bad Boys 3 is actually in the cards or not. Thoughts?
