Seth MacFarlane Picking Up Amanda Seyfried Again to Star in 'Ted 2'

Amanda Seyfriend / Ted

This summer Amanda Seyfried will be seen with Seth MacFarlane in the "Family Guy" creator's sophomore directing effort A Million Ways to Die in the West. The western comedy debuted a hilarious red band trailer not too long ago, and it sounds like Seyfried had a great time on the film, because Deadline reports the Les Miserables star is sticking with MacFarlane and his brand of comedy by taking the female lead role in Ted 2. Apparently Mila Kunis, the female lead from the successful first film and voice of Meg on "Family Guy," will only (maybe) have a small role in the sequel, mostly because the plot doesn't need her.

We're still not sure just what kind of story the comedy sequel will have, but Mark Wahlberg is still a big part of the film even though Kunis is not. Seyfried has only dabbled in comedy previously with Mean Girls, and has otherwise stayed in dramatic or thriller territory. A Million Ways to Die in the West looks hilarious, and Universal must be happy with her comedic work to have her take the female lead role in this anticipated sequel. Universal Pictures has Ted 2 slated to hit theaters on June 26th, 2015. Maybe we'll get a teaser this summer with A Million Ways to Die in the West? Stay tuned for more.

Nice...I wonder if they'll do the 'Kill the female lead from the last film to make room for a new lead' move...a la Austin Powers, and others, I'm sure.
