Steve Coogan & Rob Brydon Return for 'The Trip to Italy' First Trailer

April 23, 2014
Following their tasty, international comedy The Trip in 2010, Steve Coogan and Rob Brydon are back for seconds with The Trip to Italy. The comedy sequel debuted at Sundance earlier this year, and is already airing for our friends across the pond on BBC. But here in the United States, the film will hit theaters sometime this year, and the first trailer has arrived to show off more fantastic impressions, in depth discussions on particular music, and in a bit of meta writing, the merit of sequels. For anyone who enjoyed the largely improvised original film (which is on Netflix Instant), this looks like a fun return. Watch below!
Here's the first trailer for Michael Winterbottom's The Trip to Italy found on YouTube:
The Trip to Italy, a follow-up to the 2010 comedy The Trip, is directed by Michael Winterbottom. In the film, Steve Coogan and Rob Brydon play semifictionalized versions of themselves heading out on a new culinary road trip, retracing the steps of the Romantic poets’ grand tour of Italy and indulging in some sparkling banter and impersonation-offs. There they enjoy mouthwatering meals in gorgeous settings from Liguria to Capri while riffing on subjects as varied as Batman’s vocal register, the artistic merits of “Jagged Little Pill,” and the virtue of sequels. IFC Films releases the comedy sequel sometime this year. Delicious?
