These Guys Are Nuts: 'The Expendables 3' Gets a Fun New Featurette

The Expendables 3

Following the colorful pop art posters featuring the whole cast of The Expendables 3, we get to see them in action and on the set of the action sequel. There's some cool new footage, including a great joke from Wesley Snipes, and also some brief talking heads from the likes of Harrison Ford, Sylvester Stallone and more. Some of these bits should actually be in the trailers, showing that the film is very self-aware, especially with jokes about how kicking down the door with guns blazing would be cool if it was 1995 (which is what you could say about this whole series). If this is the end for Expendables, hopefully it's a big blast.

Here's the featurette for Patrick Hughes' The Expendables 3 from Lionsgate:

The Expendables 3 is directed by Patrick Hughes (Red Hill) and written by Sylvester Stallone and Olympus Has Fallen scribes Creighton Rothenberger & Katrin Benedikt. Barney (Sylvester Stallone), Christmas (Jason Statham) and the rest of the team comes face-to-face with Conrad Stonebanks (Mel Gibson), who years ago co-founded The Expendables with Barney. Stonebanks subsequently became a ruthless arms trader and someone who Barney was forced to kill…or so he thought. Stonebanks, who eluded death once before, now is making it his mission to end The Expendables, but Barney has other plans with a new era of Expendables team members, younger, faster and more tech-savvy. Expendables 3 arrives on August 15th.

Gotta love the jokes they throw in there about themselves. I'm glad to see Wesley Snipes back from his hard time at jail from tax evasion, haha.

Glad to see Snipes again. But PG-13 is such a slap in the face to all the fans who supported the first 2 movies, without them there will be no 3rd film being made. I will watch this..... and hate every minute when the bullets and curse words are removed/tamed down in favor of the mass tween audience

Arnolds actually gotten pretty jacked over the last year plus; at around 50 seconds when most of the cast is standing together, even though he's wearing a terminatoresque jacket you can see he is a legitimately large man. Still intimidating even next to some seriously muscular men. I wish he played a bigger part in this film..personally I think the biggest appeal to me is the concept of Arnold and Sly leading generations of action prodigy's. They encompassed two sides of the same coin during the 80's in terms of the classic action hero, and are legends. Yet his role has only just started to surpass cameo territory in these films. They should be standing beside each other with equal composition, that imagery alone would sell the movie more so...but I guess Sly makes the calls, that or Arnold doesn't want a big part.
