Though Vin Diesel has been pretty busy with the Fast & Furious franchise, and has ventured into the Marvel universe now with Guardians of the Galaxy, that doesn't mean he's forgotten about the franchise that he's been hoping to return to since 2008. Years ago, we got word that Diesel was looking to star in xXx: The Return of Xander Cage, but the project stalled for whatever reason. But Diesel recently talked to Collider, and confirmed that plans for the film to happen are still underway, "I am going to do the next xXx which will be filming in part in the Philippines, which I’m very, very, very excited about." But is it soon?

Diesel has The Last Witch Hunter as his next project, along with a big screen adaptation of the classic TV character Kojak. Plus, there may be another Fast & Furious film on the way after that. So there's no telling when xXx: The Return of Xander Cage might happen, but if he already knows one of the shooting locations, then maybe the film is further along than we think. The character was unceremoniously killed off in a short film on the DVD of the first film in order to explain why Ice Cube was stepping up into the lead role for xXx: State of the Union. Does this franchise really need a revival? Does anyone care?

Go for it. Give us another Riddick as well...now. Riddick was fairly decent...Twohy needs to let someone else write it.

Did you by any chance see the director's cut of Riddick? The majority of material was added at the beginning, and then there was an all-new ending...and I have to say, it REALLY beefed up my overall experience of the film. I came out of the theater slightly under-whelmed, but I flat out loved the director's cut....which is the same situation that 'The Chronicles of Riddick' was in for me.

I haven't...will definitely pick it up soon and let you know.

HELL YEAH I CAN'T WAIT TO SEE THIS MOVIE!!!!!!!!

Sure...I'd prefer another Riddick movie, but I'm all for this, if they can rebound it the same way they did with the Fast franchise, then I'm sure it would be a great action film.
