It's Payback Time

From Pixar to Studio Ghibli to Laika, we love all kinds of animation. And because we also like showcasing short films from time to time, calling attention to this fantastic animated short called It's Payback Time seemed right up our alley. These little gray creatures find their world in upheaval when a mysterious blue substance is leading to catastrophic destruction. Where is this coming from? What's going on? Will they ever survive? While normally you might find yourself rooting for the little guys to overcome this disastrous development, the twist ending will actually have you glad to see this world destroyed. Watch the short now!

Here's the animated short film It's Payback Time from Nexus (via SlashFilm):

As you can see, this is a short film advertisement for a Stand Up 2 Cancer telethon that's happening in the United Kingdom on October 17th (we just had one in the United States not too long ago as well). All the panic and terror presented in a colorful Contagion fashion is awesome because it's cancer finally getting what it deserves. Once you know the twist, you can go back and see some cool little hints like the fallen restaurant sign saying "The Big C." If you want to know more about the short, including who worked on it, check out the film's Vimeo page. And for more info on Stand Up 2 Cancer and how to donate, go right here.

These shorts are better than 90% of the animated feature length films we get. I understand why, but maybe Hollywood should give feature films to more unknown directors.
