Watch: Don't Let Your Kids See Movies with Samuel L. Jackson in Them
"If my picture is on the poster, maybe your kids shouldn't watch it!" The argument of whether or not Hollywood or bad parenting is the reason that people, more specifically kids, become violent or partake in other questionable behavior will never end. Do kids do bad things because they see it in movies, or is it because parents don't monitor what they're watching or explain what's right or wrong? Plenty have an argument one way or the other, but Samuel L. Jackson has some more specific advice when it comes to the kind of movies kids are consuming, mainly because he's getting blamed for all the bad behavior. Watch!
Here's CommonSense.org's PSA featuring Samuel L. Jackson (via Funny or Die):
This is actually a pretty amusing PSA from CommonSense.org, and it sends the right message about being aware and sensible about what kids see in movies. There's plenty of parents out there who think that getting rid of content with violence, cursing, drugs, etc. will make kids better, but it's all about how they're raised, and that includes what kind of media they're exposed to and how they perceive it. Honestly, Jackson's funny assessment seems to be pretty much true when you sort through his filmography. Marvel movies may be the exception to the rule, but those movies can be pretty violent too, so be careful. Okay?
