Watch: 'Ghostbusters' 30th Anniversary Re-Release Gets a Trailer
"Holdin'! Smokin'! Ready! Let's show this prehistoric bitch how we do things downtown." The 30th anniversary of Ghostbusters has been a hot topic all year, and it's getting ready to culminate in the theatrical re-release of the film just in time for Labor Day. And to hype up the limited engagement, Sony Pictures has released a trailer for the return of Dr. Peter Venkman (Bill Murray), Dr. Raymond Stanz (Dan Ayrkoyd), Dr. Egon Spengler (Harold Ramis) and Winston Zeddemore (Ernie Hudson) to the big screen. We just wish this trailer was better. Why not just edit it as if it was a movie no one had seen before?
Here's the trailer for the 30th anniversary re-release of Ghostbusters from YouTube:
University parapsychologists Dr. Peter Venkman (Bill Murray), Dr. Raymond Stanz (Dan Aykroyd) and Dr. Egon Spengler (Harold Ramis) lose a research grant when their experiment methodology is proven to be bogus. The team decides to go into business for themselves and open 'Ghostbusters,' a ghost removal service. After struggling to get on their feet, they are summoned to investigate the strange happenings in Dana Barrett's (Sigourney Weaver) Central Park West apartment. What they discover is that all Manhattan is being besieged by ghosts and other worldly demons through a portal in her building. Columbia Pictures first released Ghostbusters in 1984, and it returns to theaters for its 30th anniversary on August 29th.
