Jimmy Kimmel Turns Viral Videos into Major Star-Studded Movies
For the past nine years, Jimmy Kimmel has hosted an Oscar special following the Academy Awards featuring some of the biggest names from the ceremony that finished just minutes beforehand. Previously, Kimmel and his writers rounded up big names to craft a faux movie trailer with every genre packed in (and there was even a sequel). But this year, the comedian has rounded up Chris Hemsworth, Tom Hanks, Meryl Streep, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Kevin Spacey, Gary Oldman and more to turn some of the web's most famous viral videos into major movies. We don't want to spoil all the surprises, so just watch!
Here's David After Dentist Double Rainbow Oh My God! in 3D:
Then there's Bitman Begins directed in the style of Christopher Nolan:
Followed by Sweet Brown: Ain’t Nobody Got Time for That:
And finally Ameowdeus reaches back into Academy Awards history for this send-up:
This is a fun change of pace from Movie: The Movie, and it's hilarious to see how all these videos were utilized to be combined into a single movie trailer. Frankly, the most amazing thing is how many of these names are willing to get so silly for Kimmel. Christoph Waltz dressed like a furry is not something I'll forget, and the next time I see Chris Hemsworth in action as Thor, I'll be thinking about how Charlie bit his finger.
