Watch: Mark Ruffalo & Taylor Kitsch in HBO's 'Normal Heart' Teaser
While many fans are waiting for Mark Ruffalo to return as The Hulk, the actor has some great lower key projects waiting in the wings. Ruffalo stars with Steve Carell and Channing Tatum in Foxcatcher, turns in an amazing leading performance in Infinitely Polar Bear from Sundance earlier this year, and now he seems prime for an Emmy nomination in the new HBO film The Normal Heart, directed by "Glee" creator Ryan Murphy. Based on the Tony Award winning play of the same name, the film takes place during the HIV-AIDS crisis in NYC in the early 1980s, and the first teaser trailer has just debuted online showing off the impressive cast that includes Julia Roberts, Taylor Kitsch, Jim Parsons & Matt Bomer. Here's the teaser trailer for Ryan Murphy's The Normal Heart from HBO:
The Normal Heart is directed by Ryan Murhpy ("Glee" and "The New Normal") and written by Larry Kramer, based on his own Tony Award-winning stage play of the same name. The story follows the onset of the HIV-AIDS crisis in New York City in the early 1980s, taking an unflinching look at the nation’s sexual politics as gay activists and their allies in the medical community fight to expose the truth about the burgeoning epidemic to a city and nation in denial. Mark Ruffalo, Matt Bomer, Taylor Kitsch, Jim Parsons and Julia Roberts all star in the film which premieres exclusively on HBO on May 25th at 9pm Eastern.
