Final Cut 2014

Another one of our reliable movie fans, Nick Bosworth from JoBlo.com, has returned for the third year in a row with his retrospective of the past year in cinema. Final Cut 2014 might be our favorite retrospective video yet, if only for the interaction between the scenes, especially the juxtaposition of certain scenes in X-Men: Days of Future Past with Michael Fassbender's role in Frank and James McAvoy's work in Filth. Plus, that little opening bit to kick off the video is pretty clever too. From Birdman to Batman (in The LEGO Movie), this is a gorgeous compilation of the movies we loved (and some we hated) this year.

Here's Nick Bosworth's retrospective video Final Cut 2014 from JoBlo.com:

Check out Nick Bosworth's previous retrospective videos for the films of 2012 and 2013.

On his creation of the video, Bosworth says, "Another year has passed and it has been a memorable one folks. 2014 gave us many incredible films from every genre you can think of and I will once again honor the people behind them and their immense efforts by showcasing 330 films that released during the past year. I thank you all for watching and look forward to an even better 2015." Surely next year will pack some huge punches in theaters .You can find a list of music used (including that beautiful track from M83's Oblivion score) on the video's YouTube page, and there will be a full list of the films used sometime soon.

My friends tell me I watch too many movies. This here is proof that I don't watch half as many movies as I should.

Aw yiss. Retrospectives just make me feel old. But I love reliving the greatest hits!
