Into the Storm

Following some first look photos earlier this week, we have the first teaser trailer for the disaster thriller Into the Storm, and it blows hard. That's not necessarily meant to be negative, but if the sound of Twister and Roland Emmerich's 2012 mashed up with a mixed found footage and narrative angle doesn't sound like fun, then you'll be disappointed. This is a teaser in every sense of the word only showing off the terrible weather that hits the small town of Silverton, mostly tornadoes that seem to determined to screw everything up in sight. There's even a flaming tornado and a bunch of planes thrown around. Watch the trailer below!

Here's the first trailer for Steven Quale's Into the Storm, originally from Warner Bros. Pictures:

Into the Storm is directed by Steven Quale and written by John Swetnam (Step Up: All In). In the span of a single day, the town of Silverton is ravaged by an unprecedented onslaught of tornadoes. The entire town is at the mercy of the erratic and deadly cyclones, even as storm trackers predict the worst is yet to come. Most people seek shelter, while others run towards the vortex, testing how far a storm chaser will go for that once-in-a-lifetime shot. Richard Armitage, Sarah Wayne Callies, Matt Walsh, Nathan Kress, Arlen Escarpeta and more star in the film which Warner Bros. and New Line Cinema release on August 8th this summer.

"There is no calm before the storm" That sentence is without meaning.

That looked expensive. Is this movie supposed to be half found-footage, half traditional then?

The intermittent editing was irritating as hell.

So there is a storm. And is there some kind of story involved? And do we only get to see extras getting blown away or is there actual acting in this movie? Couldn't tell that from the trailer...

Crikey. Twister had one of the worst stories and most annoying characters ever, but maybe this could top that!
