It's a pretty slow time at the box office right now until awards season starts to heat things up this weekend. Which means it'll be the perfect time to check out Ghostbusters on the big screen again when it arrives in theaters this weekend for the film's 30th anniversary. We just featured a cool LEGO re-creation of the iconic scene where the team encounters Slimer, and now we're diving back into the past with a vintage featurette from behind the scenes of the original 1984 film. And as a bonus, since it's the 25th anniversary of Ghostbusters II, we found a vintage featurette hyping of the making of that film as well. Watch below!
Here's the vintage featurette on Ghotsbusters from YouTube user Daniele Roversi:
And here's the other featurete on the sequel Ghostbusters II from YouTube user Ghosthead83:
And check out these vintage chats with Dan Aykroyd and Harold Ramis about Ghostbusters!
University parapsychologists Dr. Peter Venkman (Bill Murray), Dr. Raymond Stanz (Dan Aykroyd) and Dr. Egon Spengler (Harold Ramis) lose a research grant when their experiment methodology is proven to be bogus. The team decides to go into business for themselves and open 'Ghostbusters,' a ghost removal service. After struggling to get on their feet, they are summoned to investigate the strange happenings in Dana Barrett's (Sigourney Weaver) Central Park West apartment. What they discover is that all Manhattan is being besieged by ghosts and other worldly demons through a portal in her building. Columbia Pictures first released Ghostbusters in 1984, and it returns to theaters for its 30th anniversary on August 29th.
