While the internet is abuzz with the leaked trailer for The Avengers: Age of Ultron (we will not post until it's made officially available), we would like to call your attention to something else cool that's still Marvel-related. Being a kid can be tough in this day and age with all the social media, bullying, and all the coming-of-age stuff that is common for all generations. But it can be even harder for kids who find themselves at a disadvantage because they are missing a limb. One man hopes to give some of those kids a hand…literally. Pat Starace has created a working prosthetic hand that looks like it belongs to Iron Man.
Here's this awesome prosthetic Iron Man arm creation from Pat Starace's website in action:
Thanks to my good friend John Cessna for bringing this to my attention. As of now, Pat's goal is to be able to turn this into a wider spread project and help kids with this creation. He says, "How can we help a child that faces everyday challenges with a disability? My answer is to give them the most awesome prosthetic hand, and raise their self esteem to Super Hero Levels. The vision was to create a hand, so that a child can have something that solves a mechanical challenge, is affordable, and mostly looks awesome!" You can check out Pat's website for more information, and if you want to help him out, you can contact him there too.
