Zachary Quinto Also Joins the Cast of Fox's Hitman Sequel 'Agent 47'
Another bit of casting news that actually bodes well for a film I otherwise wouldn't have taken an interest in. Deadline is reporting that actor Zachary Quinto will next be appearing in the Hitman sequel titled Agent 47. Yes, oddly enough, seven years after the first (mediocre) Hitman movie with Timothy Olyphant, a sequel is finally being readied to shoot. Some may recall that last year this project had Paul Walker attached to star, but after his tragic passing, actor Rupert Friend eventually took his spot in the lead role. Fox International is producing and Quinto will be joining "straight from the New York stage" where he's currently performing.
It was announced just a few weeks ago that "Homeland" star Rupert Friend would be taking the role in Agent 47 left vacant by Paul Walker's death. The film will now begin shooting in March, with Quinto joining the cast directly from his appearance in The Glass Menagerie on Broadway, along with Friend. Agent 47 will be the feature debut of commercials director Aleksander Bach, from a script written by original writers Skip Woods and Michael Finch. The project begins production seven years after Xavier Gens directed the debut Hitman movie, based on the video game series, currently at Hitman 6 with Hitman: Absolution the latest release. Let's hope with a cast like this it might turn out pretty good in the end. We can only hope.
