Zack Snyder Debunks Stolen Batmobile Rumor with Hilarious Photo

September 15, 2014

Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice

For some reason, there was a rumor that a Batmobile had been stolen from the set of Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice. Bleeding Cool picked up the story from CBS News of all places, but it turned out to be completely false. How do we know? Well, aside from the official confirmations that not even one of the several Batmobiles on set had been stolen, director Zack Snyder decided to continue his Star Wars photo gags (previously seen with a Jedi Superman and Batman on Tatooine) by having another recognizable character from a galaxy far, far away apprehended by police for trying to steal Batman's ride.

Here's the photo Zack Snyder posted on Twitter over the weekend:

Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice is directed by Zack Snyder (Man of Steel, 300) and written by Chris Terrio (Argo) with a story from David S. Goyer (The Dark Knight trilogy). Production is happening now in Detroit, Michigan and the sequel will be shot back-to-back with Justice League. Henry Cavill is returning as Superman along with Amy Adams, Laurence Fishburne and Diane Lane from Man of Steel and Jesse Eisenberg playing iconic villain Lex Luthor. In addition, Ben Affleck is joining the film as the new Batman, along with Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman. Warner Bros has this set to arrive on March 25th, 2016. Stay tuned. See the first official Clark Kent photo here, along with Affleck as Batman, plus Gal Gadot's poster.
