Arnold Schwarzenegger Will Be Back After 'Terminator: Genisys' Too
This summer will see Paramount Pictures bring Terminator: Genisys to the big screen, and the studio already has two sequels in the works dated for May 19th, 2017 and June 19th, 2018. That close of a schedule could mean the sequels will be shot back-to-back, but we don't know for sure. What we do know now is that Arnold Schwarzenegger will at least be back for the second film. The star of the original Terminator franchise recently spoke with The Arnold Fans, and he was asked whether or not he would be back for what will be the sixth film in the series. Schwarzenegger simply says, "Yes, of course, next year.”
However, let's take a moment to remember that Terminator Salvation was supposed to be the first in a new film series and that didn't work out at all. Now, I'm betting that this Terminator will be a little more successful than Terminator Salvation, if only because of the reboot nature of the story, and the fact that Schwarzenegger is back in a starring role (he only appeared digitally in Salvation), but that's no guarantee it'll be good enough to warrant two immediate sequels. For my money, the trailer doesn't do anything to make me think Terminator: Genisys will actually be good, but there are plenty who are on board with the premise already, so maybe it's just me. We'll have to wait and see what happens this summer.
