'Avengers: Age of Ultron' Confirmed to Have Just One Credits Scene

The Avengers

Ever since a credits scene at the end of Iron Man teased the arrival of The Avengers, it's become a staple of Marvel Studios' films to have some kind of tease after the movie is over. More often than not, especially recently, there have been two credits scenes: one in the middle and one at the very end. The middle one is usually a tease for something happening in the future, and the end one is usually just something fun. And with The Avengers: Age of Ultron arriving in a few weeks, fans are already wondering what we'll see this time. While we don't have those details yet, we do know that there will only be one credits scene.

EW recently spoke with writer and director Joss Whedon and Marvel's head honcho Kevin Feige, and both confirmed that there will not be a scene at the very end of the credits this time. Feige said, "There will be a tag. But there’s not a post-post-credit scene." Whedon chimes in to reassure fans that this isn't a psych out either, "There is nothing at the very end. And that’s not a fake-out. We want people to know so they don’t sit there for 10 minutes and then go: ‘Son of a bitch! I’ll kill them!'" That might be disappointing for fans, but surely theater employees will be happy people won't be sticking around as long this time.

Not dissapointed actually. One credits scene is still better than nothing 🙂

Tough enough keeping my 9yo son in a theater for 2 hours...not waiting the extra ten minutes or so will be a blessing. Just hope the one scene is a good one.

Bummer, they could have had Spidey cleaning up robot pieces or another type scene to introduce him into the franchise. Missed opportunity.

I feel like they might use Ant-Man to tease/set up Spidey in some fashion, just to create a bit more buzz/publicity around that film.

They're holding off on Spider Man, dumbass.

I actually prefer the idea of a 'mid-credits scene' to a 'post credits scene'...it feels more like it is 'part of the movie', and you don't have to sit through(or fast forward through) the credits to get to the 'final bit'.

...until they release it publicly and add the one they inevitably will film at the premier.

Well you now, film actually ends after the credits. I like to read the names sometimes or just listen to the music and keep the experience living for a little longer and the post-credit scene is just a little treat. But if you didn't really want to sit around, you could always watch it the very next day on youtube.

I like looking at the names as well, especially foreign and unique ones.

But I have so many unanswered questions about Howard the Duck!
