'Batman v. Superman' Teaser Trailer Arrives on 'Jupiter Ascending'?

Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice

Last fall, we heard that a teaser trailer for Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice may arrive with The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies. After all, they were both Warner Bros. titles and there's plenty of crossover between fans of both properties, so it made perfect sense. But the film arrived, and there was no trailer. Now word on the street (via Latino Review) is that the first teaser trailer will arrive with Jupiter Ascending in February, another Warner Bros. title that could probably use a boost from an audience interested in seeing the trailer (at least if it's a theatrical exclusive). However, don't expect to see too much.

Production only finished about a month ago, so there's probably not much finished footage. If you're looking for a point of comparison, you might notice that the visual effects shots in the Ant-Man trailer were limited (the shots we see of Paul Rudd riding another insect are from a sizzle reel made for Comic-Con this past summer). So unless the studio was planning to release this trailer the whole time and have been working on some big effects shots for the teaser trailer, this will probably be a very brief tease. But the studio could always show the tease that played Comic-Con this past summer. After all, the film doesn't hit theaters until March 25th, 2016, so we've got plenty of time to see real footage from the movie.

Off topic I guess, but what was the hurry with the AntMan teaser? Might see JA so that's good.

I wouldn't say there was a "hurry." Seeing as it's supposed to come out this summer, I feel like it's appropriate timing. If anything, I'm assuming Marvel just wants to get a head start on pumping people up for phase 3?

It just sounded how it was described here that they were using older footage in their teaser, cutting a corner or two?

They will likely take a page out of the star wars/JJ abrams book of teasers. That would be the smart thing to do. Just show one finished scene, or snippits from a few.

It's ridiculous hearing "the trailer will be before this movie and that movie...." and it never is. When it's online I'll catch it there.

I figured they would pair it with Jupiter Ascending...I don't think that film is attracting as much attention as they want it to. I think articles saying 'Jupiter Ascending will have the Batman v Superman teaser' are probably getting more clicks than any article that is just about Jupiter Ascending. They just want a bit of a spike to get that film some free publicity...then they'll anchor some of it on the 'awards buzz' Tatum and Redmayne are riding off of Foxcatcher and Theory of Everything. And I'm sure they're keeping their fingers crossed for super positive reviews.

I guess that makes at least one reason to go see JUPITER ASCENDING. I mean...the film looks like a super busy mess. I am still ready for Tatum's performance as a space elf.
