Earth to Matilda: Christine Taylor is Coming Back for 'Zoolander 2'
In the fall of last year, we learned that Zoolander 2 was getting back on the runway with Justin Theroux directing the sequel to the 2001 fashion comedy. Ben Stiller is back as the title male model, and Owen Wilson and Will Ferrell will reprise their roles as Hansel and Mugatu respectively. Now we have word on one more returning cast member that should surprise nobody. Christine Taylor, who is actually Stiller's real-life wife, will be back as Time magazine reporter Matilda Jeffries, who became Zoolander's wife too.
At the end of the first film, Matilda and Zoolander were married (presumably) and had a kid, in addition to running the Derek Zoolander Center for Kids Who Can't Read Good and Who Want to Learn to Do Other Stuff Good Too. As for where we'll find Matilda in the sequel, Taylor told EW, "I can tell you that I’m involved, but that’s all I can say. I can tell you it’s happening, but I can’t tell you where Matilda’s at and where their relationship is at. It’s all top secret!” Part of me wonders if she'll be dispatched with so Zoolander and Hansel can have whatever their next adventure may be without any strings attached. Stay tuned.
