"This ain't PlayStation. We are killing people." After a couple trailers for the international release of Andrew Niccol's timely drone thriller Good Kill surfaced a couple months ago, the film has finally locked down a summer release date in May. And with that comes the first US trailer for the film, showing a little more of the struggle Ethan Hawke has as a fighter pilot forced to adapt to technology and become a drone pilot. But being detached from the war physically doesn't mean there's no psychological torture for the killing these pilots do from a control room. This looks like a timely but straightforward drama. Watch it!
Here's the first US trailer for Andrew Niccol's Good Kill from ComingSoon:
Good Kill is written and directed by Andrew Niccol (In Time, Lord of War, Gattaca). A fighter pilot turned drone pilot (Ethan Hawke), based out of Las Vegas, fights the Taliban by remote control for twelve hours a day, then goes home to the suburbs and feuds with his wife and kids for the other twelve. But the pilot is starting to question the mission. Is he creating more terrorists than he’s killing? Is he fighting a war without end? One soldier’s tale with epic implications. January Jones, Bruce Greenwood, Zoe Kravitz and Jake Abel also star in the film which IFC Films will release in limited theaters early this summer on May 15th.
