'Friday Night Lights' Movie Star Jay Hernandez Joins 'Suicide Squad'
Just after Joel Kinnaman was brought in to replace the departed Tom Hardy on Warner Bros. Pictures and DC Comics' adaptation of Suicide Squad, another cast member has joined the project. The Wrap reports Friday Night Lights film star Jay Hernandez is in talks for a role in the film that already has a mostly impressive cast that includes Will Smith as Deadshot, Joel Kinnaman as Rick Flagg, Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn, Jai Courtney as Captain Boomerang, Cara Delevingne as Enchantress and Jared Leto as The Joker. But with all the roles filled on the super villain team, who will Hernandez play in the film? Read on!
While specific details on Hernandez's role are being kept under wraps, the report has heard that the actor may be playing an inmate on the same cell block as The Joker. However, there are several open roles that he could be considered for, so that may not be the case. Hernandez is a solid supporting star who has also been seen in films like Crazy/Beautiful, Hostel and World Trade Center, but more recently he's been doing TV series like "Last Resort," "Nashville" and "Gang Related." This doesn't sound like a role that would have him in multiple movies, but if he's an inmate near The Joker, maybe he could become a villain eventually?
