Paul Thomas Anderson

The latest film from director Paul Thomas Anderson has gotten a wide release in theaters yet, but Inherent Vice will be at your nearby theater soon enough. But if you're amongst the limited theater crowd, and you've already partaken in the drug-fueled, detective story (Sound Off here) that is thoroughly engaging and mind-boggling, then you'll want to check out one of the recent episodes of comedian Marc Maron's spectacular podcast "WTF with Marc Maron." It's a two-hour discussion talking about everything from living in Los Angeles to his attraction to Boogie Nights, as well as growing up in show biz and much more.

Listen to the Paul Thomas Anderson episode of "WTF with Marc Maron" right now:

Described as "a Cheech and Chong movie", Inherent Vice is an adaptation of Thomas Pynchon's novel about stoner private eye Doc Sportello in a 1970's "part noir, part psychedelic romp" detective story. In Los Angeles in 1970, drug-fueled detective Doc Sportello (Joaquin Phoenix) investigates the disappearance of a former girlfriend. The cast also includes Josh Brolin, Reese Witherspoon, Martin Short and Katherine Waterston. Warner Bros premiered the Paul Thomas Anderson film at the New York Film Festival and it hit select theaters starting on December 12th last month, before getting a wider release this month. Cool?

Good interview! The interviewer was a little intense and slightly off putting, but I liked that they covered as much ground as they did. PT Anderson is great.
