Batman v Superman Trailer

"Black and blue. God vs man. Day vs night." Warner Bros has debuted the new full-length trailer for Zack Snyder's Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice following the debut during the Comic-Con 2015 panel. This time they don't hold back, giving us major glimpses of the battles and many of the new characters we're meeting. Henry Cavill, Ben Affleck, Jason Momoa, Gal Gadot, Amy Adams, Ezra Miller, Jesse Eisenberg, Diane Lane and Jeremy Irons all star. This looks really extraordinary, they're covering the complaints about Metropolis from Man of Steel, and introducing so much more. Move aside Marvel, I'm way more excited for DC's upcoming set of movies. Seriously, just watch this video right now. We are not worthy!

Here's the Comic-Con trailer for Zack Snyder's Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, via WB/DC:

Zack Snyder's sequel Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice in the DC Comics Universe will bring back Henry Cavill as Superman and introduce Ben Affleck as Batman. Amy Adams, Laurence Fisburne and Diane Lane are all reprising their roles from Man of Steel, while more new additions include Gal Gadot as Diana Prince/Wonder Woman, Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor, Jeremy Irons as Alfred, and Holly Hunter in a role newly created for the film. Jason Momoa will also appear as Aquaman and there have been rumblings of Ray Fisher as Cyborg. Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice hits theaters next spring, March 25th, 2016. For more info on the film, visit the official website at: batmanvsupermandawnofjustice.com. How does it look?

    Meh, looks okay
    • ff
      I agree. Not expecting much.
  • Dubmaster2010
Oh man...that looks not so bad as expected! :-) Maybe i will give the movie a chance!
  • At least they follow the proper narrative and don't ignore the stupid destruction they accomplished in MoS. I dont read the comic but how does a someone as just being human go against Superman? That Iron Man suit? I just don't see it.
    • Jordan Odinson
      Kryptonite
      • But isn't that Lex's role? Like even with all the money what chance could he stand vs Superman. Man I miss the fun Reeves movies. Why is everything always so dark and depressing? Henry is trying and he's looking good but you just cannot beat Reeves. He will always be Superman to me.
    • capitandelespacio
Call any of the Marvelous screenwriters out there, I bet they can come up with a big plot hole and kill Superman and Batman at the same time. Except for Loki, he still appears in the end credits scene.
    • bigmikeg 23
Read....... Wait what am i saying people don't read anymore. Watch "The Dark Knight Returns: Part 2" and you would see the purpose of the suit and get a explanation how a human can beat Superman.
    • capitandelespacio
So, you can basically buy the Iron Man vs Thor fight, but not this one... for some reason.
  • Dubmaster2010
Am I the only one who thinks that Jeremy Irons (Alfred) looks like an old Tony Stark or Robert Downey Jr. in that trailer??? πŸ˜€
    • Jordan Odinson
I think he looks like Jeremy Irons, I wonder if he is in the movie.
      • Ben
As I was going to St. Ives, I met a man with seven wives...
    • Vivek Kumar Jha
      No I am with u
    • Mohd Faizal
no, you're not the only one. I was confused my self.
      • bigmikeg 23
why were you confused? No film iteration of Alfred Pennyworth has ever resembled his comic namesake. As long as the actor is older than the Bruce Wayne character and can speak with a believable english accent, why should his appearance cause confusion?
    • Aks
I even searched cast for Robert Downey jr in BvsS πŸ˜€ .. But funny part is.. even Jeremy Irons has "iron" in his name #IronMan πŸ˜€
      • Dubmaster2010
πŸ˜€ Youre right!!! That must be a sign of the illuminati πŸ˜€
  • Maxx
I have always maintained that Marvel will rule the cinematic comic universe and DC will dominate the television comic universe. I have my doubts with Snyder behind the helm again but if this trailer is any indication, this could be the epic DC film that we have deserved. And the criticism that Batman wouldn't last against Supes is getting annoying. We know that Bruce Wayne is supposed to possess one of the smartest and adaptive minds in the world. And maybe Supes doesn't want to kill Bats. Because he knows that he fights for a righteous cause and is just blinded by the Batman inner rage and loathing that we all know so well. I am just excited to see these heroes together onscreen.
  • TK
    Woweee!!!! Take my money!!
  • Neuromancer
I like it so far. Quite some diverse footage in this trailer and I have to say I do like Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor in this. Also like how they're linking Bruce Wayne with the first movie. Yeah, looking forward to it.
  • Nash
Holy goosebumps! Looks great. Except for that Wonderwoman character. I know they want to establish a universe and all that. But to me it would have been more pure if it were just Supes and the Bat...
    • bigmikeg 23
      Pure in what sense??
    • TheOct8pus
I agree....either make it a Justice League movie, or keep it at Bats vs Supes + a villain.
  • dan
wow! I can't wait to see it and I'm more hyped than ever for justice league.
  • Bo
I shouldn't comment as these movies are so popular with so many, but what the hell. It just saddens me to see actors of the caliber of Diane Lane and Jeremy Irons and Holly Hunter participating in these kinds of movies. Such a pity.
    • Neuromancer
Regardless of opinion, I don't think the massive popularity should sway you or anyone else from commenting or not. This is still the place for discussion and not a mass circle jerk, after all :) That said, I can't speak for them but I assume big movies like this are probably still good career moves, even if the movies are about simple entertainment and not intellectual art, the merits of which I'm not sure could even be rationally discussed.
      • Bo
Well, I must confess that I was being ironic as to if I should comment or not. Having clarified that, thank you for your intelligent and well articulated reply. A most pleasant surprise, I must say. Yes, yes of course it's a good career move for them. After all, as Dustin Hoffman stated years ago, actors like to be seen. Actors certainly know that they will be seen in these kind of mass audience appeal movies. Still, for me, a bit sad. That's just me though and I agree with you that these movies are about simple entertainment; the key word being simple. They do not entertain me and as far as the merits go you are right as in today's film output rational discussions are few and far between. I find no merits, however, in these comic book, super hero movies. Again, that's just me. I will re-watch Jeremy Irons in Damage rather than waste my time watching him in this stuff. Thanks again for your smart and well stated reply.
        • Nash
Well, I am not sure that this movie will be 'simple entertainment'. The last three installments of the Batman were not exactly that...
          • ff
Sure sure, thy were made by God we know...whatever
          • Nash
Thought I was made by mom and dad...
          • Nash
You mean the movies were made by God, meaning Nolan? Oh well...
          • ff
Exactly, that's how the fanboys see him. I Iike him in fact Memento is one of my favorites but the dude needs help making his 'good idea's better.
          • Nash
I always am a bit confused by the word 'fanboys'. How can You defend yourself against that kind of acquisition? You very much like the work of a certain person, You explain about that, and then all of a sudden You are a 'fanboy'. And that appears to be the end of the debate. But anyway, Nolan is in my opinion one of the best movie directors of the past few decades. But I must admit that Interstellar disappointed me in a few ways. Overall an interesting movie but especially the end sequence was close to ridiculous. The Dark Knight Rises, good movie but could have been better. Memento? I know it's brilliant, but really need to have some patience with that movie.
          • ff
I hear you. I think Nolan is a very interesting talent but his movies never quite live up to their own potential. He has great ideas but just cant quite 'get there'. Of course this is my opinion. I feel he's sort of in this phase that happens when you're good and people stop telling you no and only yes. It's happens to so many people including Lucas and Spielberg who are surrounded by yes men. "Sure that ending of Saving Private Ryan wheres he's grown up that will be great!" Uh, nope. I just feel like Nolan needs someone to take his script and make it real, cut the freaking cheese, change the crappy on-the-nose dialogue, and add a dash of originality outside of the story concept. He has great ideas, but that characters and dialogue are laughable. The reason Batman holds up so much better than others artists created those characters decades ago.
          • Bo
They weren't? I guess it depends on just who is doing the looking. One man's simple might be another man's complex and all that. To each his own, as they say.
          • Nash
It doesn't appear to be as simple as that to me. If we were talking the latest Adam Sandler product I would fully agree with You. But the all the Nolan versions of Batman dealed with themes like inner fears, the thin lines between good and bad, the things men are prepared to do when forced by evil, aging and decay, the position and reputation of law inforcement, etcetera. The Dark Night trilogy no doubt gave the audience many things to think about. As in almost any Noland movie.
      • Snev De la Fontaine
Not to mention that, as long as there is passion with the creators (and Snyder, incompetent though he is, does seem to me to be passionate), working on a film like this could still be a pleasant experience. Especially in-between films closer to their heart.
    • Adam Cloud
Ya, because people like Morgan Freeman and Michael Caine made such a big mistake participating in "these kinds of movies". I bet they regret every second of it..
    • Dotpols
Well, given Jeremy Irons appeared in "The Time Machine" I don't think we should be too high and mighty about what looks like a great take on Miller's classic
    • TK
Why does it sadden you? I believe that these movies are amazingly well crafted. Playing an imaginary character can be just as challenging as playing a character based on real people. It saddens me that this viewpoint reverberates throughout all of hollywood and is the very reason why these movies never do well come award season. RDJ, Chritian Bale, Heath Ledger, Morgan Freeman, Michael Caine, Patrick Stewart, Ian Mckellen are just a few of the great actors who have used their crafts in these movies. Does popularity really have anything to do with how good a movie might be? The Dark Knight, Watchmen, V for Vendetta, Winter Soldier, Days of Future Past are some fantastically well written movies.
      • Bo
Why do you have to have movies that you like be awarded with awards? Isn't it enough that you like them or do you need further validation for your opinions from elitist groups with very small memberships? Just asking. Awards and the awarding of them is a bit shallow and trite and really has nothing to do with anything but self-congratulatory ego aggrandizing and marketing to make more money for those with a stake in it.
        • TK
It isn't always about ego. It's about recognition for the work that people put into these movies. I like a wide variety of films and I wouldn't write an actor off because they happened to be in a movie that wasn't exactly to my liking. There have been many a movie that I thought was in a better position to win an award for best actor and director etc. and have been completely ruled out because of the same train of thought that you had. I couldn't really care less if the movies I like win awards. Remember I get nothing from that movie being awarded lol. The actors, directors, people behind the scenes and everyone who worked on that movie get the awards. How is it self-congratulatory? You don't give yourself the awards. They are chosen by your peers and audiences and so what if it feels good to get a congratulation every now so often. It shows that your work means something to someone. Movies that get awards doesn't directly correlate with making money.
    • Jordy Calvo
Hey, to each his own, right? we all have our opinions. you don't like it? fine. but we live in the real world, not just your world, so you shouldn't pitty these actors just because YOU don't like these kinds of movies. Just so you know there are billions of other people in this world and probably a whole bunch of them appreciate and like these kinds of movies... and oh, these actors are paid MILLIONS so don't pitty them. haha
    • TheOct8pus
This is the best kind of work you can get in Hollywood these days. They probably worked for a week and got paid 7 figures.
  • Was that Javier Bardem as Bruce Wayne's father?
    • Miguel Garay Boszeta
No, that's Jeremy Irons. He is Alfred.
      • Nash
No, that's Laurence Fishburne, He plays the son of Barry White?
        • capitandelespacio
          No, he's Kevin Bacon.
          • Lagoya

      Jeffrey Dean Morgan
    • steve
Pretty sure that was Collin Farrell
  • Miguel Garay Boszeta
    Amazing. So excited for this.
  • I had my doubts about this movie, especially since they announced Wonder woman was going to be in too. Because they're introducing a 'new' Batman and a 'new' Lex Luther, I don't know how they would give enough time to develop each character. That said, this looks EPIC! Sad part is, like every Zack Snyder movie, the theatrical release often falls short of the Director's Cut. I just hope the theatrical release is still very good, because 'Man of steel' wasn't -- and Warner Bros. cannot afford to screw this up now!
  • Imagine if Superman flew at top speed into a human, it'd be the best death scene ever. If I was Superman, I'd be doing that steez
  • jay
Im just imagining Zack Snyder screaming at the poor composer "GIMME THE GOT DAM DRUMS AND CHOIR JUST MAKE IT MORE EPIC!! IT HAS TO BE MOoRE EeeeEEEePIC!!!!!"
  • davidrabbich
So Original Night Owl in Watchmen saves the Wayne's only to have the Comedian become Thomas Wayne
    • Jon Odishaw
      Also Ozymandias was Thomas Wayne
  • DAVIDPD
Holly Hunter's accent is getting thicker and thicker! I wonder how Elastigirl will sounds in THE INCREDIBLES 2? // Ah G-d! This looks like heavy handed awesome!~
  • DAVIDPD
Gal Gadot looked great as Wonder Woman!
  • Sean
    what a mess

        JUST. Stop.
        • ...
        • Nash
          Too bad YOU... will stop.
    • capitandelespacio
Maybe, for you, it's time to stop watching movies. Just, stop.
    • fazha
A lot of backlash from this comment, but lets be real: We all wet our pants for the first Man of Steel trailer and it turned out to be, well, OK, depending on who you ask. Trailers like these are meant to get butts in seats. Let's just all keep it in our pants until we see the movie, shall we?
    • Jordy Calvo
      Yeah, what they said....Just Stop
  • ari smulders
    here comes my opinion ::awesome!

  • Bounty 4 Zuckuss
Ok looks good. I'll admit it
  • Armitall
Well I have to admit I never liked the idea of Batman and Superman in the same movie, there just is no competition. But this looks really good. I liked the first trailer, but now my interest has peaked.
  • Ry
    HOLY SHIT.
  • It's a Zack Snyder's movie. It doesnt matter how good it looks, it will be bad.
    • Nash
      I think DotD was great...
      • TK
I also thought Watchmen and 300 were good movies.
        • Nash
Yeah, well surely above average to say the least...
        • OfficialJab
I really like Sucker Punch. Am I too far off for you guys on that one?
          • TheOct8pus
The only good thing about Sucker Punch was all the white panty shots...
          • OfficialJab
That stuff is what I didn't like. I was big on just the idea of it and the soundtrack and the direction.
          • TheOct8pus
I really enjoyed the cinematography and direction on 300 and Watchmen (both were very darkly drawn comics and the films did them justice). I can't really say the same for Sucker Punch. The soundtrack also annoyed me because they kept reusing that Bjork song that came out in 1998...
          • OfficialJab
Was it used more than once? I thought it was just in the snow scene.
          • Tester
And the soundtrack was pretty cool.. but thats about it.
  • shiboleth
I liked Man of Steel and will probably like this one. Those films don't get any more special than fun. Winter Soldier, Dark Knight and likes, they are just fun ... It takes much more to be something worth of calling it a work of art ...And world needs fun. doesn't it ..?
    • Bo
I don't know, does it? It also depends on what one thinks is fun. I'll make my own kind of fun and not depend on those out to make the big bucks by providing the herd with their brand of entertainment for my fun. Of course, that's just me.
      • shiboleth
And again, you're clearing the things in the right direction. No, I wouldn't like big producers (or whoever in movie/entertainment industry) to define my idea of fun or good time ... That's partly why I said what I said since these movies are nothing serious and can be accepted as a fun,or one idea of it. But not as a definition of fun for me or anyone else ... Cheers over there for these comments ...
        • Bo
          Okay.
  • Trix256
Wow this looks good. Can't wait. Anyone notice the Robin outfit with jokers writing?
    • Sherlon
Yup , I suspect it is the Jason Todd -Robin . The one that the Joker "killed"
  • chrisills
I'm wondering if the Batman vs Superman fight has a twist to it? After watching the trailer there's a scene where Superman is kneeling before Luthor and he seems to be under his control, plus they get a hold of Zods dead body as well. Has Luthor actually cloned Superman? I remember in MOS when Superman was on the Kryptonian ship they were able to take a blood sample. Does Luthor Corp find some Kryptonian DNA by taking on the clean up job of the mess created by the world engine? He then creates a Bizzaro Superman which goes out of control commiting acts of atrocities which would turn the people and governments against the real Superman. They would then search for a way to kill him which would mean the fight we're seeing is actually Bizzaro Superman vs Batman? The real Superman then teams up with Batman & Wonder Woman to take the clone down and then the Justice League is born?
    • Jordy Calvo
Nahh.. he actually looked disgusted that he was bowing down to Lex so i dont think Lex was in control of him. Lex was probably blackmailing him or something
      • Dotpols
Yeah, or had kryptonite or had Lois Lane hostage or something.
    • Man of Steel
yes, Batman go to desert rescue Superman. This movie is like an Death of Superman
      • TK
        That theory works for me.
    • Jon Odishaw
There is also the codex, if he gets the upper hand on superman via kryptonite he could create more supermen.
    • Sherlon
Very , very interesting take .
    • bigmikeg 23
Think Doomsday, because to make a identical clone of something or someone don't you need their genetic material, ergo to clone superman he needs superman dna, but to create doomsday he just need kryptonian dna. So i think supes and bats just get into a fight and later just "hug it out", and lex is messing around with krypto dna and creates a super soldier aka DOOMSDAY.
      • chrisills
Further on in my original post I did say that a blood sample was taken from Superman when he was on the Krytonian ship. So they would be able to clone him if they found it whilst combing through the wreckage.
        • bigmikeg 23
Wrong ship, the ship with the kryptonians, and his blood sample, went back to the phantom zone or wherever they sent them. The ship Zod crashed was the one with all the unborn kryptonians.
          • chrisills
Oh smeg it! You're right. Thought I was onto something there.
  • Jean-Noel Rose
    Superman has been cloned!!!!!!
    • Man of Steel
      yes
  • Avi Zimmerman
Can we all agree that Marvel does the movie thing better and DC does the TV thing better? This idea keeps proving itself with every new production.
    • JBroti
Have you not watched "Daredevil"? That was a pretty good season. Then again, it's not TV, it's Netflix.
    • Roxtaf
No we can't agree. Marvel is light and comic in their movies. Where DC is dark and serious. It may very well both be comicbook movies, but they are not in the same ballgame in my opinion. Both of them are making awsome movies these days. But they are so far apart that i can't agree to crowning one king over the other, they occupy two different realms
      • ColtNoir
lol, DC has just started doing the "dark" thing. that's because Nolan did it well, and it only started with Nolan. Let's go watch Green Lantern and tell me how "dark and serious" it is. a dark and serious superman gave us a thinly veiled disaster movie. they're in the same ballgame...it's Marvel and DC for crying out loud - don't act like they aren't comparing themselves to each other and trying to one up. Marvel has been winning easily, simply because they know how to tell their stories in a relatively cohesive manner. DC is still learning how to create their own universe and keep it alive and growing with each movie. Hopefully they've learned how and they appear to be doing it. Superman was a poor movie...this looks to redeem that.

          Kal-El? NO!

          • Н.И. +
            Agent Smith on Matrix Revolutions?
  • bigmikeg 23
Trailer did its job and has me totally hyped to see this movie. Unlike some comments, I reserve judgement on the movie until i see it in its entirety, as i do with ALL comic book/ superhero/ toy line movie which come out. Unless it is a sequel that will no doubt just heap more garbage on my consciousness, I'm talking about you Transformers 4 Age of Extinction. Can't wait to see these 2 icons duke it out on the big screen. #BatmanVSupermanallin
  • TheOct8pus
The footage looks pretty good, but the battle scenes look a little ridiculous, especially the shot with the CGI Batman dodging Superman's blast with the grappling hook (also, isn't Superman supposed to benevolent and not murderous?).... Also, what's Zack Snyder's deal with the sepia tones? Why is everything so yellowish all the time? I'm still skeptical about this....
  • avconsumer2
Well... looks better than I thought. Still skeptical, but more curious. Will watch.
  • OfficialJab
That "red capes" thing at the end seemed like some goofy outtake.
    • theslayer5150
I think it is a play on words from "the Red Coats are coming" the famous Paul Revere line.
      • OfficialJab
Oh unquestionably, I just think it's really dumb.
  • pablouk
I have a horrible feeling that they will screw this film up
  • nevadasurfer
So Lex destroys wayne tower and makes it look like superman did it so they fight while he clones a bunch of zod soliders and then batman and superman discover they should not be fighting each and other and with wonder woman they kill all the zod clones and start the justice league.
  • JBroti
Wow "this" movie looks pretty good. But there's so much unfinished CGI scenes, it'll be more interesting to see when time draws near. Can't wait till the first Civil War trailer hits, then maybe we won't get a biased opinion by the writer "Move aside Marvel". This is one trailer for a movie that has a lot to live up to, whereas the other has a more impressive track record. But I'm looking at more in line of...we're getting two comic companies releasing good quality movies in our day and age. That's something we should all be grateful for!
  • Н.И. +
Dead colors, bad CGI,sad darkness and a lame action just like Man of Steel.
  • ErrorSapiens
The return of the black knight (parts 1 and 2) are great movies. The "old" nothing to lose batman is one of the best takes on batman I`ve ever seen, and the Batman vs superman showdown in part 2 has some great ideas. Id actually say Affleck is a bit too young for the part, but the mighty chin is close to the cartoon.. although Bruce Campbells chin would do nicer πŸ˜‰ . Lex Lutors play in this contra the black knight returns set up for the S vs B conflict is yet to be revealed, but I have my doubts. Assault on arkham asylum (suicide squad) and the black knights return will be the fall or stand awkwardly, but okey for the DC universe.
  • John Doe
Kinda hate to admit it but I kinda enjoyed the hell outta that trailer. A shame that Supe "needs" Batman in order to make him and his story more interesting tho. And I'm sorry but I'm just not buying Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor.
  • Dusty Neil
Why is robert Downey Jr in the trailer for batman vs superman but is not in the cast listing ? Weird ha . Check it for your self.
    • Roy Morris III
      Where?
