Star Wars: The Force Awakens

After the first teaser trailer blew everyone away back at Thanksgiving, the second teaser trailer for Star Wars: The Force Awakens finally shows some stuff that fans have been foaming at the mouth to see. I can't even describe for you the sentimental feeling I got of seeing Harrison Ford back as Han Solo along with his old friend Chewbacca (Peter Mayhew) right there with him, and the line used to end the trailer is just perfect. There's barely a reveal of Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill), but there's that old voiceover of his from Return of the Jedi talking about how his family is strong in The Force. I can't wait to see this! Watch!

Here's the second teaser trailer for Star Wars: The Force Awakens from Star Wars YouTube:

You can still watch the first teaser trailer for Star Wars: The Force Awakens right here.

Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens, continuing the beloved original trilogy about Luke, Leia, Han & Chewie that ended in 1983, is directed by J.J. Abrams, of the films Mission: Impossible 3, Star Trek, Super 8 and Star Trek Into Darkness. The screenplay is written by Lawrence Kasdan (Empire Strikes Back, Raiders of the Lost Ark, Return of the Jedi, The Big Chill, The Bodyguard) and J.J. Abrams, with Kathleen Kennedy from Lucasfilm producing. This debut is the beginning of a brand new saga, with another trilogy planned for this storyline, not to mention other standalone movies in this universe. Disney, after acquiring Lucasfilm, will release Star Wars: The Force Awakens in theaters worldwide on December 18th, 2015.

I'm not a huge Star Wars fan but I like it and by the end of the trailer I teared a little. Just for clarification, this films occurs when they are much older (han etc) and the Empire I guess by the looks, is dead but now on the come up?
    • Jesse
      Yes, you are correct.
    • MaqueeStalker
I also was not a fan of the original stuff. Very excited for this new stuff.
    • VAharleywitch
Basically, yes. Rumor has it that remnants of the Empire are still around, and either causing problems for the Alliance/New Republic (or whatever they're going to call themselves); or the Empire remnants have been quietly biding their time & building up their strength.
  • Isn't Luke the one with the robotic hand touching R2-D2?
    • Oblique
      Correct!
    • TheOct8pus
Yes. And that's Leia grabbing the lightsaber
      • Jon Odishaw
you sure? I got a Luke's daughter impression.
        • TheOct8pus
Not sure. But Luke's voiceover says, "My sister has it," while someone is handing her the lightsaber....just speculatin'
          • ProjectionistHP
Is it Luke as voiceover? He says : '' My father has it, I have it...'' So narrators father isn't dead = narrator is not luke? Or he means that Anakin is still alive in force or something...
          • Jon Odishaw
just one of the many mysteries :)
          • David Diaz
I was wondering the same thing immediately. Why my father "has" it. And I didn't think it was Luke's voice at first. It would also make sense if Luke's son is speaking and he has a sister.
          • Yea, I think it's Luke's kids... they just so happened to show Darth Vaders helmet... doesn't really mean its Luke talking.
          • TheOct8pus
You may be right, but it sounds like Mark Hamill to me.
          • Jon Odishaw
            this^
          • VAharleywitch
That would be a pleasant syke-out.
          • TheOct8pus
It's an iconic line he used in Return of The Jedi...they just added the "now you have it" line at the end.
          • ProjectionistHP
I'm not familiar with how precise english speaking people are with their grammar. But that they would take old lines and just slam it into a teaser with grammar flaw, i'm not buying that...
          • Jon Odishaw
Ethan mentioned thats an old voiceover. Those hands looked too young to be Carrie's.
          • TheOct8pus
Maybe she got a space manicure. Remember how pissed she got when they shot her hair?
          • Gohikeone
Classic!!! Too funny. Better call her father...
  • Oblique
Looks great, though I think I liked the first teaser trailer a bit better. Not a star wars fan but can't wait to see this.
    • Jon Odishaw
I agree the first one seemed better. But that could be in large part to the build up and the fact no one knew what it would look like. there were some badass shots in this one though.
    • Troll alert. Sheesh it's impossible to please people.
      • Tester
Come on now Sascha, dude is just sharing his opinion like the rest of it.. He did say he cant wait to see it afterall
      • Oblique
Since when did I mention I wasn't pleased!? If that what makes you a troll these days, you must not know what troll is.
  • Gav Kelly
    Surely that's luke's hand with R2
    • Snev De la Fontaine
I would think so, but then again, Mark Hamill is not that thin anymore.
  • Tester
    oohhh fuck
  • So sick. That shiny helmet guy looks bad ass.
    • David Diaz
Shiny helmet girl. The talk is that is Gwendoline Christie's character.
      • VAharleywitch
        I'd believe it.
  • son_et_lumiere
i know everyone loved the teaser, but i thought that was much better. a slow build, strong connections to the canon, some action shots, nostalgia as the Falcon is chased inside a big structure again, and ending with Ford showing more charisma in a few seconds than he has in many recent full films. and still not many, if any, spoilers. excellent.
    • VAharleywitch
I think other than Leia getting more in touch w/ her Force abilities/Jedi heritage, I really didn't get any feel of spoilers in this... Which is totally awesome!
      • son_et_lumiere
indeed! plus, i almost forgot - top marks also for using John Williams' score from the start, it was like hearing from an old friend.
  • Nathan Williams
Excuse me while I go change my pants.
    • Nash
Would You care to bring an extra clean pair for me?
      • Nathan Williams
I'm sorry but the force is strong in my pants I need as many clean pairs of pants and underwear as I can get my hands on.
        • Nash
Damn, now I need yet another pair!
  • Chris Groves
    This looks amazing.
  • Tuomas Lassila
So will that masked guy with the new lightsaber be like the next gen Dart Vader?
    • FUGUSHKA
Basically a rip off of Darth Revan from the KOTOR series. So far it looks like JJ and his team have literally destroying the EU and cherry picked what they like the look of, then bastardized it so that it is "original".
      • Tuomas Lassila
        Looks original to me
  • TheOct8pus
Chewie hasn't aged a bit. He still has that puppy glow.
    • TheOct8pus
      Han on the other hand....
    • Adam Cloud
I think in Wookie years, he's only about 23 or so.
  • Jon Odishaw
This looks so damn intimate and epic at the same time! No one will ever do the teaser as well as JJ. No one.
  • ari smulders
Me as a 48 years old guy gets still excited of any star wars related stuff! This was über awesome!!! Thanks JJ!
    • Tester
      Met @ 46 is right there with U !!!
      • Nash
Same here @ 48, thanks JJ, You've hit the right chord!
        • TheOct8pus
Aw man....I feel so young. Haha...
          • Tester
I think today we are all the same age !!
  • ProjectionistHP
I cried a little. Nice teaser mr Abrams.
  • Just impressive...feels like Star Wars of old. What a fun time to be middle aged and watching movies right now.
  • Lagoya
Still not sure about John Boyega...
    • TheOct8pus
Have you seen "Attack the Block"? He was good in that. It's a fun film if you haven't seen it...
      • Lagoya
I haven't seen it, I should really check it out!
      • ari smulders
        indeed great movie!
  • TheGoyimKnow
Looks like the Jewish writers, director and studio executives behind this new STAR WARS film are planning to introduce an interracial relationship between a white woman and a black male. Big surprise.
    • Guest
Just shut the fuck up with your bullshit for once.
    • Jon Odishaw
      my ignorance meter just exploded
    • Lagoya
      lol
    • Tester
Thanks for you comment, at least we now know that the internet is still working in your mom's basement
      • Have Hope
Well done....you just won the internet
        • Jon Odishaw
fairly certain this is the second time he's used that line on here.
          • TheOct8pus
            Still....it's a good one.
          • Jon Odishaw
            yes I laughed
          • Tester
3rd time, but its so damn appropriate I can't get away from it
          • Have Hope
            it's bloody amazing. hahaha!
          • Jon Odishaw
It is very appropriate for the trolls
    • TheOct8pus
      Hey! Come on, it's sci-fi!
      • Tester
Oct8pus, I kinda envy U dude.. even though I will be seeing this movie with my 24 and 22 year old boys, its gonna be awesome for you to see this with your 9 year old.. regardless, for those who grew up with these movies, it will be incredibly cool to see these new movies with our kids.. I truly hope they enjoy them as much as we did when we were kids
        • TheOct8pus
True, true. No matter how old you or your kids are, this is going to be a fun event given how we've all grown up with the original trilogy.
          • David Diaz
My son will be 9 as well when this is released and I can't wait to binge watch the first 6 with him before we go see Force Awakens in the theater.
          • TheOct8pus
Yes! I too will watch the first 3....and maybe parts of Episodes 1,2 and 3.
          • LightningB
David Diaz - Same here as my son will be 9 as well by the time this comes out and we've already talked about watching all 6 before we go as well. Love that he's into it as I was 9 when Jedi came out and enjoying them together is awesome.
          • TheGoyimKnow
Are you planning to show him this race mixing propaganda?
          • LightningB
Ha ha ha ha! That's so funny.
          • TheOct8pus
What planet do you live on? Albino-world?
    • Adam Cloud
And then there's people like this...
      • Tester
        Unfortunately
    • Nielsen700
      You're not on 4chan, dude.
    • BlackBull
Haha. Jealous white boy? Not my problem white men are too pathetic for their own women and they just want the superior black seed.
      • Brian Sleider
        Racist.
    • danstrom
Wonder if they will pull out all the Modern-Day TV memes: the Extremely Competent Black Boss, the Wise Black Woman (think: The Matrix), the silly and cowardly White "Boy" (adult age), the mean and ignorant White Man, the Lost Child (always a White woman), etc.
    • Kurt Miller
there has always gotta be that now or they will cry racism
    • Dotpols
Yeah! How dare the Jewish cabal that run Hollywood do something so against nature as to feature an interracial relationship! Seriously, how is this comment even on here? Don't you have a Klan meeting you should be attending between truck stops?
  • Jesse
I re-watched this maybe 20 times and at the end it left me in such a good mood. I am more excited than I ever was for this film. Every single shot looked AMAZING! Favorite Part: "Chewy...we're home."
    • Tester
Yes.. and so unfair to release this halfway through work, I cant get shit done now.. trolling this site and re-watching the trailer for the rest of the work day
    • JBroti
It's crazy to see how old Ford looks. He's one of those actors you don't want to imagine getting old because eveytime someone says his name, you instantly see him as Indy or Han.
      • LightningB
Yes he does look old but it's still good to see him as Solo again.
        • txJM
          Not really.
          • LightningB
            Contribution. Try it.
          • txJM
I just disagree. Why do you need quantification?
          • JBroti
I agree with both of you. It's nice to see his character return, but I don't want him to be a primary character like he used to be nor do I want to see him act the same way he did when he was younger. I want to see a matured, old Solo. Like seeing "Old Man Logan" instead of young Wolverine again.
          • Terry Craig
Yep, I don't see why if there is a young Obi-Wan, there can't be an old Han. I hope he'll just play a different role for the main story and maybe evolved/matured a bit in character.
      • Brian Sleider
        real talk.
  • Have Hope
So is the chick actually the hero?
    • TheOct8pus
      Heroine....
      • Have Hope
Hero. I am politically incorrect. Sue me.
        • TheOct8pus
Haha....I'm pretty sure she's just one of the heroes
    • or the villian...
    • Jesse
Yes, she is. Along side w/ John Boyega
  • MAWG
    I just had a nerdgasm
  • Nielsen700
The beat up helmet kinda looks like Harrison Ford's face.
  • Xerxexx
Storm Trooper at 1:15 got some air.

      • Xerxexx
        Amazing.
      • AwesomeWave
        I hope not
        • Lar Rackell
Oh, you know it's gonna be.
  • "The force is strong in my family. My Father HAS it, I have it, my sister has it, you have that power too." His father HAS it........ Maybe im reading too much into that. But it was Vaders lightsabre being handed of ..... The cult of Vader is strong in this one.
    • Marc
      i already said that
    • Brian Sleider
Its a line from Jedi, at the time it was said Vader was still alive.
      • so who was the fourth person during Jedi then ? Vader, Luke , Leia aaaannd ??
        • Brian Sleider
what fourth person? "I have it, my father has it, my sister has it(you have it)". My sister has it, you have it, he said that while talking to Leia. I mean really have you never seen Jedi?
          • this trailer aint Jedi idiot.
          • Brian Sleider
The QUOTE is DIRECTLY from Jedi, sport. Its not a new line of dialog, its a sound byte from Return of the Jedi. Calling me a name when you are the one who is wrong is quite funny to me, thanks for the laugh.
  • Adam Cloud
Anyone else thinking that Kylo Ren is going to end up being one of the Solo children? With the whole hat-trick attempt that Abrams pulled during Star Trek (Khan), I feel safe in thinking this may be another attempt at misleading a role.
    • Adam Cloud
Oh and the shiny, caped stormtrooper.. awesome!
  • capitandelespacio
    Not enough lens flares.
    • TheOct8pus
You're just jealous that JJ didn't ask you to be in this movie....
      • capitandelespacio
This whole movie will go through the ventilation shaft!
        • TheOct8pus
          That's what she said....

What kind of polisher do you think he uses?
    • Elbak
And where do you get that mod kit for your m4?
    • TheOct8pus
      This'll get ya shiny.
  • shiboleth
I am kinda afraid that this Star Wars shit is still going to be around with some new stories, twists and shit before I die... A bit depressing... Like, things don't change in sf after this. What's that line from the Two-Face said to Batman: why can't you just die?
  • Mike Zarquon
There is a hint that Darth Vader maybe lurking somewhere or Luke becomes just like his father in another form. We shall all wait with bated breath till 18th December this year. The Force is indeed strong with the fans too.
  • Brian Sleider
First off, BAD ASS!! Second off, is that black guy going to be panting the whole movie? I mean is there no other footage of him, like not out of breath and or terrified.
    • Oblique
You better get used to that black guy! That's boyega, believe bruv!
      • Brian Sleider
I have seen the guy in a couple things, I have no issue with him as an actor. I just think its funny that all the footage of him from this movie is him out of breath, looking scared ect..
        • Oblique
lol yea I've seen that comment on another site too. He hasn't caught his breath yet in any of these trailers.
    • TheOct8pus
      Space Asthma....
    • avconsumer2
lol - I'm assuming he's a rebelling storm trooper. In which case, he probably should be scared and out of breath most of the film. ;P
  • III
    The nolstgia!
  • txJM
The quick-zoom on the Falcon made me sigh. Who let Zack Snyder on set?
    • SallySpider
      facepalm
    • Н.И. +
Try to watch some J.J Abrams films before posting bullshits.
      • txJM
        "Try" is the operative word...
        • Terry Craig
Or maybe watch some more movies from the 70s other than 'A New Hope' if the first thing you think of when seeing quick zooms is Zack Snyder.
          • txJM
Oh, because other hacks did it, it's okay. Gotcha.
          • Terry Craig
Yeah, hacks like Kubrick or Scorsese. Get a clue.
          • txJM
            Thumbs up, dude.
  • Nate Blank
In a galaxy far far away... a typical suburban girl Tiffany mets her new neighbor Tyrone!
  • Trey Wilson
Ford is old as shit. He looks addled and just, well, old. He should have retired a long time ago, in a galaxy...
    • Another Troll. Shut the fuck up.
      • txJM
        He's right, you know.
    • TheOct8pus
Yeah. He's old. I'm sure his part will be smaller than the young leads' parts.
    • avconsumer2
Cause old people can't act?! wtf kind of comment is that? Looks pretty good for 72 imo.
    • Dave F-Sykes
Get bent. Christopher Lee is knocking metal albums out and hes in his 90's
  • FerricJaggar
Why is it so important to Hollywood that white women have set with black men? They push for it constantly.
    • TheOct8pus
Why is it so important for racist douchebags to voice their old-fashioned opinions?
      • Tester
        BAM !!
      • wlfgng
He's got a point. Was the goal to produce a great Star Wars sequel, bringing back all the characters and satisfying the audience in a way all can enjoy and feel fulfilled in or to use the movie as a vehicle to push a social political agenda to a captive audience that dare not say anything. If the goal was the latter they accomplished that.
        • TheOct8pus
yes, Wolfgang van nazi. Star Wars has a social political agenda… Right
          • wlfgng
No, but the fact is that many Hollywood producers/directers do. Live and love as you want, how you want, who you want as long as it affects no one else, just don't push it on others or shove it in a captive audience's face, it's offensive. Ya, the van nazi comment is let's see...about 180 from where I'm at.
          • TheOct8pus
Ok. If I offended you with the Nazi comment, I apologize, but you seem awfully uncomfortable with the fact that Lando Calrissian and Samuel L Jackson are NOT the only two black guys in the Star Wars galaxy.
          • wlfgng
No not at all. I just know how these things work, some one behind the scenes pushed for a casting that would lead to an interracial relationship because that's their agenda, pure and simple. How it relates to the audience, if it does or how it affects the film positively or negatively was their secondary concern.
    • SallySpider
      set?
  • dan persaud
this trailer makes me think star wars is stuck in the past
    • TheOct8pus
it takes place A LONG TIME AGO in a galaxy far, far away.
  • dan persaud
    havent they seen riddick
  • dan persaud
superman vs batman will be the game changer too bad they take so long filming
    • Н.И. +
A trailer will come after 2 years!
    • Guest
Game changer? DC films are either not bad or terrible.
    • TheOct8pus
Supes Vs. Bats ain't gonna change shit. They're lucky if they can duplicate the success of Marvel phase 1
      • TheOct8pus
Addendum - the trailer has leaked online...and it does look pretty good. It's more Sin City/300 than Man of Steel, but it still looks decent.
        • avconsumer2
Ah! Thanks for the tip! Came away more "meh" myself. The electronic manipulation of Affleck's voice for Batman is... different.
      • Avi Zimmerman
can we just declare marvel as the winner of movies and DC as the winner of TV? Think about it...
  • ZT
As a 45 year old man, glad to see Han. Best he show the newbies how driving the Falcon is done!
  • Н.И. +
    Breathtaking trailer.Thank you dear Abrams.
  • Akirakorn
"Chewie, we're old" No disrespect to Mr Ford but all the dialogue and 'money shots' in these trailers seem hokey and... forced. Besides, hokey gimmicks and voodoo plot twists are no match for a good story at the theater kids!
    • ff
They should have given Chewie grey hairs too. Who agrees with me?
      • AwesomeWave
        Maybe he has, down below...
      • David
not all species go gray as they age. But I agree it would be a nice touch.

    • SallySpider
yet you sound like an 11 year old now...you pump gas for a living?
      • ErrorSapiens
So cool reply from the arsetroll. Arsetrolls are usually solitary creatures that come in all ages. Arsetrolls main source of food is its own hind, often seen biting its own butt. Mating call: "random BS reply to whatever comment online". Does not mate. Pops up from a porcelain hole in the bathroom.
        • SallySpider
Someone needs to send a coat hanger back through time
          • ErrorSapiens
They tried, but the universe wanted me to show you the oxymoron of the arsetroll 😉 piow piow!
          • SallySpider
0/10 As an idiot you're too stupid to realize that you're incapable of a clever response. All the more reason to coathanger you out of existence. Try again douchetroll.
          • ErrorSapiens
yet another oxymoron, your kind of an artist :)
    • SallySpider
I`m SO fucking sorry i said that. I was having a bad day.
  • ErrorSapiens
    This looks so dumb
    • ErrorSapiens
All the work you go through, I`m flattered :)
    • SallySpider
I didn`t mean to post under your nick.. I was just doing what arsetrolls do..
  • David
This is not Luke's statement from Return of the Jedi. There he was clearly talking to Leia but in this trailer he is clearly talking to some one else because he says his father has it, he has it, his sister has it and "YOU" have it too! Plus Did you notice he says his father "has" (present tense) it? Could be Abrams will find a way to bring Darth Vader back... Hope so.
  • GunTotingLib
JJ Abrams needs to get some kind of nobel prize for saving great franchises by adding his generous slab of talent .
