T.J. Miller & 'Transporter' TV Series Star Heading to Fox's 'Deadpool'
Though 20th Century Fox just set an October 2016 release date for their X-Men spin-off Gambit, let's not forget that the studio has Deadpool coming first in February of 2016. After the leaked test reel for the film got fans all excited about the project, Fox finally decided to get the film off the ground, and Ryan Reynolds has closed his deal to reprise his role as the character that was ruined in X-Men Origins: Wolverine. Now a supporting cast is getting rounded up for the film that will be directed by visual effects veteran Tim Miller with The Wrap reporting T.J. Miller (no relation) is in early talks for some unknown part in the film.
In addition, "Transporter Legacy" TV seires star Ed Skrein is being courted to join the film as well, and it sounds like that might end up being that of the villain. No specifics were revealed on just what that character may be, but surely we'll find out once production begins. Miller has been part of some huge projects lately, including prominent voice roles in Big Hero 6 and How to Train Your Dragon 2, not to mention an all too short supporting role in Transformers: Age of Extinction. We hope he's more than just comic relief this time. As for Skrein, it sounds like he might be on the rise, and this role could be a big breakthrough. Stay tuned for more details as production on Deadpool looms closers.
