Tyrese Gibson Really, Desperately Wants to Be New 'Green Lantern'

We've got plenty of time until we get a new version of Green Lantern from Warner Bros. Pictures. A reboot of the DC Comics superhero was announced with the rest of the DC cinematic universe plans, but it won't arrive until June 19th, 2020, and that's just a release date, which can easily change as time passes. But that hasn't stopped people from thinking about who should put on the ring, though it depends on whether Hal Jordan, John Stewart, Guy Gardner or Kyle Rayner is the hero. But still, one actor is lobbying hard for the role, and that's Tyrese Gibson, one of the stars of the Fast & Furious franchise. Look below!
This guy just won't stop…… Wow…. @bosslogix got me fired up!!!!!! #GreenLanternMission #BlackSuperHeroMission 20|20 "I am fully committed to suiting up for this adventure" - @Tyrese #GL "In brightest day, in blackest night, No evil shall escape my sight. Let those who worship evil's might, Beware my power, Green Lantern's light!!!!!
Gibson began hyping himself for the role almost a week ago, so maybe he knows something we don't about casting. It wouldn't be out of the question since there's a chance that Green Lantern may pop up in Justice League, which arrives in two parts on November 17th, 2017 and June 14th, 2019. Gibson wouldn't be the first Fast & Furious franchise to head into comic book territory since Gal Gadot is Wonder Woman, Dwayne Johnson is in Shazam and Vin Diesel is Groot (with the hope of an Inhumans role too). Gibson doesn't really have the star power to lead Green Lantern, but we'll see what happens. Thoughts?
