San Andreas

"The Earth will literally crack open, and you will feel it on the East coast." Hot on the heels of yesterday's new poster, the second trailer for the disaster drama San Andreas has arrived, and it brings a whole slew of destruction with it. California gets messed up beyond recognition, and Dwayne Johnson is saving people left and right, whether it's his wife (Carla Gugino) or his daughter (Alexandra Daddario) or some woman who fell in the street. Plus, in addition to the earthquake, we get a peek at one of the side effects of the earthquake, a tsunami headed towards the Golden Gate Bridge. How will Johnson survive?

Here's the latest trailer for Brad Peyton's San Andreas straight from Warner Bros. Pictures:

You can still watch the teaser trailer for San Andreas right here.

San Andreas is directed by Brad Peyton (Journey 2: The Mysterious Island) and written by Allan Loeb (Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps), Carlton Cuse (executive producer and writer of "Lost"), Chad & Carey Hayes (The Conjuring), Jeremy Passmore (Red Dawn) and Andre Fabrizio (Vice). Set in the aftermath of a devastating California earthquake, the movie follows a helicopter pilot (Dwayne Johnson) and his ex-wife (Carla Gugino) as they struggle to leave Los Angeles in order to retrieve their daughter (Alexandra Daddario) from San Francisco. Warner Bros. Pictures releases the film in theaters May 29th this summer.

Still not sold on this. Disaster movies were really big in the '90s and early 2000's but I think most people have got over them. Visually looks cool but that dialogue though...
  • Is this some Liberal scare movie? Just kidding, it looks insanely stupid though.
It's THAT girl from TRUE DETECTIVE. Quite a lovely girl. Trailer is fine.

Oh it is! Good eye. She's indeed quite tasty.

All these disaster movies look and feel so fake....too much CGI. Not enough real stuff happening. And that chick with the blue eyes is quite tasty

U could very well say the same about all the recent comic book movies.. And I agree

You're right. The main difference (and what makes the super-hero movies more tolerable) is that these disaster movies are all about these large scale sets falling to pieces, but the sets are all fake. They're just rendered backgrounds and it's obvious. For the most part, (at least in the decent ones) the super-hero films are about the characters themselves and not the setting. That's also my main complaint for the Hobbit movies and the Star Wars prequels. All these "places" that aren't real and it's pretty obvious.

That didn't look fake at all. Do do you some people see that?

I'm in. LOVE a good popcorn movie. The budget for VFX must be insane, and while not perfect, it works. MHO

    That looks.......awesome!

Great! Another film painted by numbers... But I'll watch it for Alexandra Daddario alone! Fun popcorn flick.
