Jason Bourne TV Spots

"The world is at war. We need the perfect weapon." Universal has released at least three new action-packed TV spots to promote the upcoming late summer release of Jason Bourne, bringing back Matt Damon as Bourne and Paul Greengrass as director. All the footage we've seen for this so far looks pretty damn good, and these latest spots tease even more of the plot. The full cast includes Alicia Vikander, Julia Stiles, Tommy Lee Jones, Vincent Cassel and Riz Ahmed. One of the TV spots seen below drops a big hint about the "Iron Hand Program", which Nicky describes as "even worse than before". It seems Vincent Cassel is a part of that program, but we don't know much else about it yet. I'm really looking forward to seeing this.

Here's the first few TV spots for Paul Greengrass' Jason Bourne, direct from YouTube (via SlashFilm):

You can watch the first official trailer for Jason Bourne here, to see the only official trailer available so far.

Matt Damon returns to his most iconic role in Jason Bourne. Paul Greengrass, the director of The Bourne Supremacy and The Bourne Ultimatum, once again joins Damon for the next chapter of Universal Pictures' Bourne franchise, which finds the CIA’s most lethal former operative drawn out of the shadows. For Jason Bourne, Damon is joined by Alicia Vikander, Vincent Cassel and Tommy Lee Jones, while Julia Stiles reprises her role in the series. Frank Marshall again produces alongside Jeffrey Weiner for Captivate Entertainment, and Greengrass, Damon, Gregory Goodman and Ben Smith also produce. Universal releases Jason Bourne in theaters everywhere starting July 29th, 2016 this summer. For more info visit this site.

The women in his life keep getting picked off. Poor Jason.

      Bond Syndrome.
  • Julia Stiles get whacked? That poor amnesiac action man never catches a break. Will go check it just for a wee Moby tune at the end.

Yea, I'm really looking forward to this movie too, Alex. I like that as there are not many movies being made these days that I want to see, let alone look forward to. And why not look forward to this one? These two guys, Damon and Greengrass, have made a couple of really good Bourne movies so there really is no reason to doubt that they can't make another. We shall see, but yes, I'm looking forward to it and hope I'm not disappointed like I am so often these days. As far as Julia Stiles's character getting whacked? I don't know. I know that's a common narrative on some of these movie web-site because of the trailer, but I couldn't tell that she was killed. Definitely there was some kind of explosion from a bazooka-like weapon that blew her off the cycle, but did it kill her? How can we be sure of that? Am I missing something here? I only watched it once and didn't have a thought about it until all the chatter on these sites.Would they be stupid enough to show that in a trailer? Why? Nicky is such a great character and Stiles is wonderful in the part, if it's so, then they must have a good reason to use her death as a momentum forward for Bourne. Like I said, we shall see, but I hope not and especially hope they wouldn't be so clueless to show it in a trailer. These two guys have too much class and smarts to allow something like that in the marketing. At least I would hope they do.
  • certified awesome no doubt. Matt Damon is a great action hero. He combines intelligence with muscle.

WTF are studios thinking with the spoilers in the trailers. Was going to see it at the cinema, now I'm not.
