Watch the New Short Film from Spike Jonze Starring Stephen Colbert
If only this were real. During one of this week's episodes of The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, one of his guests was filmmaker Spike Jonze. The show opened with a special opening short film, which starts with a title card saying Jonze had an "idea" for the opening and this is the result. I know I'm not the only one anxiously awaiting the next feature film from Spike Jonze. While we wait for something to happen, he went on Colbert's show to promote the launch of a new TV channel called Viceland, opening this week - see here. In the meantime, this amusing short featuring Colbert and an old friend is worth a quick watch. Enjoy.
From The Late Show's YouTube. "Director Spike Jonze had a vision for how to open The Late Show, so Stephen said, why not?" Filmmaker (and occasional actor) Spike Jonze has made a few shorts that we've featured previously - there's one he's in about love made for Her. He's also made a few: To Die By Your Side from 2011; the Arcade Fire collaboration Scenes from the Suburbs from 2012, and his 2010 robot short film I'm Here, which most people remember the most. Jonze's last feature was Her, along with Where the Wild Things Are before that, but he's currently not working on any projects. Thanks to The Film Stage for the tip.
