Hans Zimmer Talks Chris Nolan's Secrecy & Orchestra Experiments

Hans Zimmer / The Dark Knight Rises

What is he up to? Composer Hans Zimmer recently spoke with Hero Complex (via SlashFilm) and talked not only about his score work on The Dark Knight and this summer's The Dark Knight Rises, but why director Christopher Nolan likes to maintain such secrecy, and such a disconnect from the online world masses. We've heard Zimmer talk plenty before about TDKR, and many speak for Nolan since he doesn't give too many quotes, but it's always great to hear a fresh update, especially since they're starting to finish things with only five months left until release. "I have 25 minutes of very, very radical, very different stuff."

Some New Images from 'The Dark Knight Rises' + Nolan Talks Bane

The Dark Knight Rises

Though six months lie between now and the release of The Dark Knight Rises, some midnight IMAX screenings in New York and Los Angeles are already sold out. At least one more official trailer will probably hit before the film's release, but until then we have a few new images which you can check out below. In addition EW recently talked with Christopher Nolan about the debacle concerning Bane's muffled voice and he said, "I think when people see the film, things will come into focus. Bane is very complex and very interesting and when people see the finished film people will be very entertained by him." Photos below!

Watch: Fantastic 'Lion King' and 'Dark Knight Rises' Trailer Mash-Up

The Lion King Rises

No matter what your stance on the debacle over the seemingly incomprehensible voice of Tom Hardy playing Bane in The Dark Knight Rises, we can all pretty much agree that the second trailer for Christopher Nolan's anticipated conclusion still delivered what audiences wanted. Now that trailer comes to us in a whole new light as Mashable has uncovered a rather awesome trailer mash-up from YouTube user MovieMaestroTen (via SlashFilm) that takes the audio from The Dark Knight Rises trailer and places it over perfectly edited footage from The Lion King to make Disney's epic, The Lion King Rises. Watch below!

Untrue: 'The Dark Knight Rises' Prologue Now Has a New Audio Mix

The Dark Knight Rises

Before the end of 2011, the six-minute prologue for The Dark Knight Rises exploded onto select IMAX screens with copies of Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol, and while the footage itself was a treat for fans, one part of it wasn't received so well. Many audience members loudly complained about having trouble understanding the lines coming from the sequel's new villain, Bane, played by Tom Hardy. The issue apparently had Warner Bros. insiders quite worried about the effect it might have on the film. Christopher Nolan said audio changes would be minimal, but it appears action has already been taken to fix the issue.

Bane's Gotham Strike Map Printed on Viral Tube + T-Shirt Package

Bane's Gotham Strike Map

The Fire Rises strike map? Gotham is staked out? So did we miss something? I feel like this is a huge jump ahead, right on the verge of the IMAX prologue being released this weekend, but here we go. Warner Bros has been mailing packages to various websites, us included, containing The Dark Knight Rises swag - a badass new Bane "Fire Rises" t-shirt that comes in a tube wrapped in a map of Gotham City (see the photos). The shirt looks great, but the tube has caught the attention of the web, with sites like ComingSoon and ComicBookMovie dissecting the notes like they're viral clues. As far as I can tell, this may just be a gift.

Badass New Bane Teaser Poster for 'The Dark Knight Rises' Unveiled!

The Dark Knight Rises

The Legend Ends. So Warner Bros unveils a rather kick ass new teaser poster for The Dark Knight Rises on the official website this morning, and no one notices until the afternoon. Well, here it is, the new teaser poster for Chris Nolan's epic finale to his Batman saga. In unison with next week's IMAX prologue debut in front of M:I4, this poster features Bane in the background and a broken Batman mask in the foreground, plus that tagline. I'm pretty sure this is not a spoiler or anything, but it is pretty badass. I can also tell you that shattered mask shows up in the montage of footage at the end of the prologue, too. This is awesome.

'TDKR' Operation 'Early' Bird Viral Unlocks Early Prologue Screenings

The Dark Knight Rises

And here... we... go. As the time ran out on the Operation Early Bird site revealed just yesterday, instead of launching a viral game or any more clues, the site just simply forwarded to a map. Operation Early Bird, which was indeed way too on-the-nose with its name, is a "viral" site linked to The Dark Knight Rises revealed yesterday. The map shows numerous dots for cities where a screening is occurring on 10PM next Tuesday, December 13th, giving fans who could get to the site before it crashed an opportunity to see the new jaw-dropping, amazing, exhilarating six-minute prologue a whole three days before everyone else does.

Chris Nolan Says 'TDKR' to Have Up to 50 Minutes of IMAX Footage

The Dark Knight Rises

Whoa. If that's not a headline to remember, than I don't know what is! To top off the amazing six-minute IMAX prologue to The Dark Knight Rises that I saw last night (video blog here), our friends at SlashFilm have picked up a very exciting IMAX scoop that's deserving of its own post. At the post-screening reception, they caught up with director Christopher Nolan, who mentioned during their discussion the potential amount of footage that was actually shot on IMAX that will make it into the movie. And it's up to 50 minutes of it. Holy crap! After seeing only six minutes, I can tell you seeing 50 is going to be phenomenal.

Video Blog: 'The Dark Knight Rises' IMAX Prologue was Exhilarating!

The Dark Knight Rises - Bane

Earlier tonight I was invited to come see The Dark Knight Rises six-minute IMAX prologue in glorious full-screen film-projected IMAX. As many know, I am a huge fan of Chris Nolan and his Batman series, and I love The Dark Knight. I wasn't sure what to expect and I haven't been looking at any set photos, so this was all a surprise for me and it was amazing—even for only six minutes! The footage was personally introduced by Nolan himself, who I got to meet after. I won't spoil the experience of watching it unfold, but this is something you must—at any cost—see in full IMAX, it is absolutely exhilarating, your jaw will drop.

Operation Early Bird Viral 'Dark Knight Rises' Countdown Launches

Operation Early Bird

Operation Early Bird is coming. Whatever that means? Thanks to tips from sites like SHH & SlashFilm, we now know there's a simple new website for The Dark Knight Rises "viral" campaign that has launched at OperationEarlyBird.com. It all originally came from a tweet by @thefirerises that contained the final CIA document, wherein the phrase "Operation Early Bird" was mentioned. Not a tough clue to figure out, but now the site only contains a countdown timer for the commencement of the operation, which I presume will lead to the early reveal of the trailer or prologue footage or something tomorrow at approx. 10AM PST, based on the clock. We'll keep you updated on the TDKR viral and what Operation Early Bird is from here!
