This is the last call for anyone who wants to catch the midnight/10PM show festivities occuring around the country tonight for Snakes on a Plane. Again, refer to the complete list of participating theaters (although note that AMC has disapproved of all events at their theaters). And if you're in Colorado Springs - see you at the Cinemark theater!

The Pirates Midnight Experience & Events
Part of our plans for this Pirates of the Caribbean 2 opening involved hosting a few contests and hyping up the crowds at the theatres to be ready for Pirates. We love going out and doing it and this was hands-down one of the greatest openings we've done. We went to all 3 theatres and did our 30 minute "shindig" and took some great photos of the awesome costumes that people wore and just the great fun that happened throughout all 3 theatres. Definitely check out these photos! Our contests included:
1) "Talk Like A Pirate" Contest
2) Pirates of the Caribbean Trivia Questions
3) Costume Contest w/ special guest judge manager Mr. White

Drew's Pirates Blog
July 5th
10:00 pm : Arrived at the theater to find Alex and Josh already there. Unfortunately I had to work today, so I wasn't able to make it until just now. I set up the TV, projector and screen. That is my car in the photo posted by Alex. =)
We started off the night by watching Serenity, which I should review at some point. Suffice to say my coat is sort of a brownish color, and it wasn't even on sale! =) As a bonus, we got to watch Alan Tudyk as Wash, aka Steve the Pirate! I also managed to get yelled at by one of the theater underlings for having my car parked next to the building for unloading. She didn't so much as yell, but took a much more passive aggressive path. Instead she went inside and sent one of her employees out to take back the chairs we had used to set up our TV and screen. Grrr!
Pirates of the Caribbean 2 Camp-Out Live
And so it begins! Time to camp-out again for Pirates 2!
Pirates of the Caribbean 2: Dead Man's Chest Camp-Out Live Blog - Seen!
4:28PM - I've arrived, setup our mini-camp and got things going. As of now, no one else is here and our camp isn't as massive as Superman. We're working to get the rest of our stuff out here (TVs / projectors) and so on to get everything fully running. Lots of big updates and quality live blogging will be happening soon. We've fixed our internet since last time and now everything will work much smoother.

Latest photo of our camp-site as of 7:13PM.
Here's some of the events and good times we have planned for this Pirates 2 camp-out:
» More movie watching all night, some gaming, and so on. This time we got a projector.
» Hype activities for people in the lines on Thursday once people arrive.
» Costume contest & trivia in the theatres Thursday before the movies begin - lots of prizes!
» Much more… as you know! I don't have to explain - so just keep watching for updates.
Prep for Pirates 2
Whoa! All 3 shows (12:01, 12:02, 12:03) are all sold out already! Looks to be a fantastic Thursday before Pirates of the Caribbean 2 comes out. I'm getting my last good night of sleep before hauling everything down to the movie theatre one more time to camp-out. We'll be doing some live-blogging again (that'll start tomorrow of course). Nothing much more to say for now… just be prepared for tomorrow afternoon's start of the live blog from the Pirates line!!
Pirates 2 Midnight Costume Contest
Hey… for everyone out there that may be reading this that is from the Colorado Springs area! Got a big announcement for ya. We're running a special costume contest at the Pirates 2 midnight openings at the Cinemark on Powers. It's being sponsored by the theatre too and we'll be running it in all of the theatres (12:01, 12:02, and 12:03). There are no rules really, except that the winner will be judged based on audience approval (as in, cheering). So put together a costume, whether small or elaborate, and try to win it! Prizes have not been announced and probably won't be until Wednesday/Thursday.
And if you're not from the Colorado Springs area… then stay tuned Thursday at about 2AM (or Friday morning) for all the photos from this costume contest.
The Josh Report on Superman
Sorry I am not writing this live right after Superman. I usually like to think for a day or so about everything that happend since we started our little shindig around 27 hours before the movie started.
Best Super-Hero Costumes EVER!
I have seen quite a few great costumes in my life from all kinds of events, including other big movie openings (Lord of the Rings and Star Wars) and at Halloween. However, here in line at Superman Returns, some of the most detailed, good looking, and all-around "coolest" super-hero costumes I have ever seen made their stunning debut. This group showed up at around 6-7PM and made quite a scene upon their arrival. The vibrant colors in this guy's Superman costume can be seen from a mile away. You'll definitely want to see the photos!
Superman Camp-Out Live - Seen (Updated)!
6:31PM - Well… I'm here, just me (Alex) so far. The biggest let down: we're #2 in line. These other kids who were in front of us for X-Men 3 heard about our arrival and decided to jump-ship and get here earlier than us. I was unfortunately out of state at an unexpected funeral for a relative and otherwise had to wait for my plane to arrive. So with all that mess, we have unfortunately arrived #2. However!

Here's some of the festivities and goodness planned for this evening.
Prep for Superman Camping
So I've been working on some prep and details for the upcoming Superman Returns camp-out / midnight showing next Tuesday. We're taking our experience at the theatre to a "whole new level." FS.net will be bringing actual fun and goodtimes (and free stuff) to all those who come and camp out and wait in line early, too.
Most recently we've secured the trutsy and delicious Chipotle as our food sponsor providing our meals for the entire time and possibly getting us some other free things/food to give away to the line. We're working on some other sponsors to try and get even more awesome stuff, including hopefully free snacks at the theatre, etc. In addition to the full-blown camp we'll have setup outside the doors of the theatre, we'll probably bring some quality entertainment to pass the anxious 3 hours of waiting inside the actual theatre.
Pirates Tickets On Sale
Although this is pretty irrelevant unless you go to this movie theatre, I'll still post it anyway. The new Pirates of the Caribbean tickets went on sale at the Cinemark on Powers. Of course I got my midnight showing tickets and FS.net will be out there in full force for at least 24 hours in advance (doing love blogging, too). Look forward to that awesome event in just a few weeks!
Superman & Cars Tix On Sale
The Cinemark movie theatre in Colorado Springs (where I'm heading) just posted up their tickets for Superman Returns and Cars. You can find the "midnight" (10PM) showings of Superman here and the Cars opening day showings here.
We have tickets for the 10:00PM showing on Tuesday for Superman and the 4:30PM showing on Friday for Cars. So we'll see you there if you are hitting up those times.
