ENJOY THE SHOW
Everyone is sufficiently excited for Tron Legacy right? Well, to give you something to chew on while you wait that doesn't spoil anything but is extremely fun to watch, fire up this video. It was uploaded by Disney, but first found by our friends at HeyUGuys.co.uk, and is another promo spot that stars Olivia Wilde and Garrett Hedlund shot at the End of Line club at Comic-Con. The two answer 10 Tron-related questions in 60 seconds and it makes for some hilariously playful and very nerdy improv'd banter. "Because it fliessss!" "Whaaatttt?" Or my favorite: "Play it real dirty… there are no rules!" Only 33 more days left. Watch below!
We did not see this coming! Disney has suddenly debuted one final epic full-length trailer for Joe Kosinski's Tron Legacy. This is the granddaddy of them all, a full two-and-a-half minute long epic trailer, giving us a final glimpse at all that we'll need to see before going totally freakin' crazy for this movie! There are quite a few new glimpses of new scenes, some epic battle shots of the light jets in action, and so much more. Try to contain yourself while watching this, because if you're anything like me, you'll scream with excitement about halfway in. We've seen many trailers over the years for Tron Legacy, but here it is, the final payoff. Enjoy!
When we showcased a new poster for Tron Legacy earlier this week with a digitally young Jeff Bridges as Clu 2.0 standing in front of a fleet of light jets, it was actually the first third of a three-part triptych banner. Rather than releasing the second part by itself, we decided to wait until the full banner was completed, and in my opinion, this is the best poster for Tron Legacy we've seen yet. I know we've featured plenty of posters for the movie and have kept the hype machine well oiled, but we're kind of hoping this will be the last poster we'll highlight. This triptych puts the war between Clu 2.0 and Flynn on full display. Check it out below!
The first TV spot for the highly anticipated and long awaited sequel Tron Legacy hit the web today, and following close behind is a brand new which features a digitally young Jeff Bridges as Clu 2.0 for the first time in any of the print marketing materials released so far. In addition, the poster features the first official images of the light jets outside of the glimpses in previous trailers and the footage that was shown at Tron Night last week. We've also included a small batch of international posters featuring individual characters. Though their design is familiar, none of them have been seen for the US marketing push just yet. Check them all out below!
On last night's premiere episode of "The Walking Dead" on AMC (which everyone was hopefully watching), Disney debuted one of the very first early TV spots for Joseph (Joe) Kosinski's Tron Legacy that I've seen air. This was uploaded by TheMovieBox.net, hence the tag, so send them the thanks. This TV spot contains mostly old footage from the latest trailer, give or take that awesome shot of five, count 'em five, lightcycles lining up on the grid to take on some bad "orange" guys. Yes, this still looks awesome. It's interesting to see how they're selling it at this stage, with solid TV spots like this hitting very wide demographics. Check it out!
With only two months left until Joe Kosinski's Tron Legacy hits theaters, Disney is kicking off their final marketing push, so they held their own fan-oriented promo event tonight in the form of Tron Night 2010. Similar to Avatar Day last year (see those reactions), they showed roughly 23 minutes of IMAX 3D footage at theaters in 50 countries around the world and all 50 states in the US. It was an extended look at some select scenes from the first half of the film, the same stuff that I saw at a Disney Showcase event a few weeks ago. I think it looks absolutely amazing, but I decided to turn to the fans in the theater to get their reaction as well.
Not that we need more to make us drool over Tron Legacy, but another music video has popped up today for Daft Punk's "Derezzed" track (found on Tron-Sector). We've been talking about Daft Punk's work on the soundtrack a lot recently, as they revealed their own official poster recently and released a promo photo that everyone went crazy over. This is just a big cherry on the top, though I suggest starting to throttle how much you see from this, so as to not get overexposed. Anyway, it's an awesome music video with a lot of cool footage, some from Comic-Con, plus it's also great to know that Daft Punk will be in the movie, too. Enjoy!
Give or take the otherwise abundance of Tron Legacy related media hitting the web recently, from posters to more posters to Daft Punk updates and so much more, we haven't actually seen that much from the viral side of things since the End of Line Club was discovered at Comic-Con earlier this summer. Well, the viral is definitely kicking back into gear in prep for Tron Night next week (that's now sold out!) with an update to the popular Arcade Aid mini-game where you must identify video games on a giant pixel graphic cityscape. This time they've expanded the image to be three times bigger than before, with over 167 new games to find!
Oh hell yes! We've been waiting for weeks to catch the reveal of the official Daft Punk poster for the Tron Legacy soundtrack and it's finally been derezzed. Over on the official website you'll see the poster that Daft Punk made for the release of the soundtrack. I'm sure there will be more exciting events relating Daft Punk yet to come. If you preordered the deluxe version of the soundtrack, you'll get one of these posters when it's released on December 7th (it got delayed). And yes, as you'll see in the animated gif below, certain "white" portions of the poster glow-in-the-dark, which totally makes this 100x geekier. Check out this poster below!
Oh hell yes - you ready for this?! Disney has debuted the official theatrical Tron Legacy poster, which is a play on the original epic Tron poster with Flynn reaching out towards his identity disc floating above him. I wish we had a nice, clean high res version of this, but Disney chose to debut it on Yahoo, where all we've got is a shabby low res version for now (we'll update this later). There have already been quite a few posters for Tron Legacy, but this is the first official poster released besides the lightcycle teaser poster debuted late last year. I'm already in love with this poster, including the digital distortion effect over the characters. Enjoy!
There's a lot going on in Tron world at the moment, as Disney is kicking off its enormous marketing push for the last few months leading up to its opening. First, they've debuted the first photo of Daft Punk inside the world of Tron Legacy, as seen below. That reveal comes with a new sampler of their track "The Game Has Changed" from the soundtrack, which can be heard on the official Facebook. There's also a partially revealed poster for Daft Punk'd Tron on the soundtrack website, but we'll post the entire thing once it's unveiled. Oh and lastly, you can reserve tickets for Tron Night now if you haven't already. Hope you're all getting excited!
Another new viral puzzle just launched via Facebook and FlynnLives.com for the on-going Tron Legacy viral that we haven't seen much from since Comic-Con. We don't know much about the new website, but it's another one of those cryptic viral sites with numbers and colored bars and codes to crack. The Tron viral has involved a lot of coding and deciphering before and this is the same. If you visit the new site and click on any of the numbers, you can download a zip file containing a lot of word docs. It looks like a big ASCII art photo (thanks to Unfiction), but if you guys can help us decipher it, I have a feeling it's leading to something big!
An odd email was sent out to readers last night alerting them that the website for Tron Legacy's Official Soundtrack by Daft Punk had been updated. The email contained a few bits of real info, but mostly chunks of garbled text which turned out to be real text encoded in Base 64 (decode it here). It said the soundtrack featuring Daft Punk's all new score will go on sale on November 22nd and that you can actually pre-order it on the website right now. To go along with the score, Disney is debuting an exclusive poster specifically for the soundtrack, which will be unveiled on that same website in 12 more days (there is a countdown timer).
More Tron Legacy goodies to make you drool. This time I really mean it, as ComingSoon found a sexy new poster/banner featuring Olivia Wilde as Quorra, a mysterious character from the Tron universe that helps Sam Flynn in his journey to find his father. You can check out that new poster below and I've also included another one that shows Sam Flynn (Garrett Hedlund) poses with a similar background, since that recently hit on a Hedlund fan site and it looks similar (so I thought I'd feature them side-by-side). I'm still excited as hell for this and will be covering anything cool that hits until it arrives in theaters December. Check this out!
