Darren Aronofsky Taking On Ballet Thriller 'Black Swan'
by Alex Billington
January 19, 2007
As you know, we here at FirstShowing.net are big supporters of Darren Aronofsky, the director of The Fountain - so of course we're going to post any good news about his work! The latest is just a bit odd, as our friends over at CHUD.com reported. Apparently Universal has acquired Black Swan, a psychological thriller that looks at the manipulative relationship between a veteran dancer and a rival, as CHUD calls it, a "ballet thriller." Aronofsky is being "fast-tracked" to direct. John McLaughlin, who's worked with Aronofsky before on an adaptation of Song of Kali, is writing the script.

Ballet thriller? Is that a new genre? sounds creepy Next time around I would like to see a little bit more Pi and a little less Fountain, but I guess that's just me.

Me too. More Pi and less Fountain. I am afraid my favourite director is going commercial.
