Guy Ritchie Directing Another Ensemble British Gangster Film: RocknRolla
Guy Ritchie, the British director who's married to Madonna and known for directing such classic cult films as Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels, Snatch, and the recent Revolver, has got another cult classic movie in the making: RocknRolla!
Just like Lock, Stock and Snatch before it, Ritchie wrote RocknRolla and the film is in the same vein, too, as an ensemble British gangsters flick.
It's being produced by Joel Silver and his Dark Castle Entertainment production company, which doesn't have a great reputation recently, putting out flops like House of Wax and The Reaping. Let's hope that this isn't doomed in the same way his horror films are and instead is a fantastic film, as is usually the case with everything Guy Ritchie makes.
Warner Brothers will be distributing, which is good news meaning it will be handled well and won't get screwed like Edgar Wright's Hot Fuzz, and it's aiming to start shooting in the summer. We'll be sure to update you on the cast and story details once they're known.
I didn't really hear anything about "Revolver". Was it any good?
