Well you can confirm in HD it is a nasty looking green color it is probably from space or some experiment by the government.
Stephen on Nov 19, 2007
Good point Alex, it does seem like it could be a under sea creature in looks and also in the poster you can see how something had moved the water.
Stephen on Nov 19, 2007
It's GODZILLA guys, come on!!!!
Richard Reeds on Nov 19, 2007
areweall migrating overhere?
dudeman1 on Nov 19, 2007
Oddly enough, when you pause the trailer at 1:12 the two monsters kinda look like bears you can see claws and the way their legs are shaped. But that seems really odd...
Kristine on Nov 19, 2007
i don't think the whole movie is blair witch style. go to bloody-digusting.com and they have 19 screenshot from the movie. some pretty good ones too.
ddot3 on Nov 20, 2007
Should stop the video at 1:29 ! Don't you see some big monster walking through a building? !!!
Cloverfield on Nov 20, 2007
Blair Witch project style and Godzilla is a good idea .... In the trailer you can see the shadow of a small creature ( Human size ) who eat or kill a human being ...I think it is not the same creature who cut the head of Statue of Liberty and throw it in the middle of the city because he is so small to do such a think ...that mean there is more than one creature ... We can say Godzilla and his children 🙂
shero on Nov 20, 2007
You guys have it all wrong! Watch the part where you think monsters are attacking the woman. Its actually poeple in contamination type of suits walking a lady who actually appears to blow up she gets real fat and you hear a odd noise like she is exploding!
Eric on Nov 20, 2007
Scene Im talking about is at 0:58, im 100% sure of it!!
firstname.lastname@example.org on Nov 20, 2007
correction its 1:11
Eric on Nov 20, 2007
Huge green thing that comes from the sea? I'm rootin' for Cthulu.
Nephren-ra on Nov 21, 2007
I think the smaller creature we see in silhouette, is clearly a bear. I'm guessing that with all the destruction that occurs in the area 'formerly known as Central Park,' the zoo was as well destroyed and in some scenes some animals with a potential for being deadly must as well be dealt with...
Ern on Nov 21, 2007
I'm sure it's GODZILLA!) It was my primae impressionis, and i think so far!)
Alex LexUS on Nov 21, 2007
It's Gamera. The little flitty-flappy noises come from the two twin fairies who will sing thru the credits. The End.
Spike Murdock, Poet-at-Large on Nov 21, 2007
Alex LexUS, It is 100% not Godzilla. How pathetic do you think that would be?!?!?!?! J.J. Abrams would not do a remake of Godzilla, he likes to produce more original ideas instead of using someone else's work. Trust me, it's a whole new idea!!
Joe on Nov 21, 2007
The Official Poster is now online: http://11808.blogspot.com/2007/11/official-cloverfield-movie-poster.html
Eddy on Nov 21, 2007
Godzilla and Gamera seem likely candidates. Still not convinced it's C'thulhu, though. What about a re-make of "The Host"? Isn't there supposed to be an American re-make in the works?
Zamfir on Nov 21, 2007
Abrams tank at 1:30.
sherlock on Nov 21, 2007
how is it no one seems to see or hear the similarities of the sounds between this so called 'monster' and the so called 'monster' from the show Lost? those sounds they hear at the end of this trailer are just like the ones they hear on Lost right before whatever the 'thing' is shows up, I'm really likin the chances of this bein a Lost movie, one that people who have never even seen Lost to still be able to really enjoy and understand and eventually lead them all to the dvd's of Lost, brilliant!
decker on Nov 21, 2007
Hope it's not too late to leave the shakycam shots on the cutting room floor. Looks cool, but not if they can't hold the camera straight :(.
kevin on Nov 21, 2007
OH so now my Bear theory is noticed. Let it be known I was the first to mention a BEAR!
Blackbird on Nov 21, 2007
Gojira!....Gojira! Godzilla is what he's called in the states. Looks great and scary! This will no doubt be a fun time at the movies!!!
Spider on Nov 21, 2007
It's a giant leprechaun folks! He's looking for his lucky charms in New York!

It's Hillary Clinton! RUUUUUUUUN!!

"It's the Stay-Puft Marshmellow Man." Just kidding. Happy Thanksgiving guys. 🙂
jason_md2020 on Nov 22, 2007
I was told the big thing was a whale and the small things were animals that lived on its tail. I'm trying to find info on the internet.
Lorna P. on Nov 22, 2007
I found it. It says it's just a fan art. http://www.horror-movies.ca/horror_9299.html
Lorna P. on Nov 22, 2007
I may not be a huge movie fanatic, but I can deffiantly say this has been the talk around my school ever since the trailer during transformers. JJ is deffiently a clever guy!
Fishman on Nov 22, 2007
It is definitely 2 people in contamination suits carrying the woman away somewhere......they very easily could have just ADDED in those weird noises and it may have nohting to do with what was going on in that shot.....just to confuse you......
nightowl on Nov 22, 2007
it is 2 people in contamination suits, if u pause it at 1:11 or 1:12 theres a guy on the desk calmly sittin down, it ain't no bear or godzilla, thats stupid
Magma on Nov 24, 2007
Samuele on Nov 25, 2007
they showed too much of the movie im pissed i watched this
mayorofwonderland on Nov 26, 2007
From what Samuele posted you can clearly see the monster is Greenish in color, bipedal and has protective plates on its back.
Daniel on Nov 27, 2007
did any one see what the hell flashes up in that trailer with 25 seconds left. its some kind of creature i think. human sized.
Donny Harris on Nov 28, 2007
Correct me if I'm wrong but these sites are not part of Cloverfield right? Recently: http://www.cluechaser.com http://www.boldfutura.org Old: http://www.warbloid.com http://www.tagruato.jp But these are: http://www.jamieandteddy.com http://www.slusho.jp http://www.01-18-08.com
dan-ohh on Nov 30, 2007
Look at 1:47. You can see the monster. It's crossing the road and pulling some kind of cart behind it. A death cart i believe. Movie looks rad. War-of-the-worlds rad.
Sharpeyez on Dec 2, 2007
post # 41 cluechaser is cloverfield inspired, its a game where you have to find clues online to solve things boldfutura.org is fake warbloid.com is fake tagruato.jp has something to do with cloverfield! we believe that it has something to do with the story line. and the other ones are legit too so the cloverfield involved sites are: http://www.1-18-08.com http://www.slusho.jp http://www.jamieandteddy.com http://www.tagruato.jp

Hiya, It can't be Cthulu. I would hope that even Abrams is smart enough to know any Lovecraft mythos monster, would never rampage through a city. The would have driven you insane before. 🙂 Bad form for that mythos. I hope it's original, maybe a take on "Leviathan", a good biblical monster that hasn't been used much. Maina
Maina on Dec 8, 2007
Okay...during the shot with the two people in Chem suits you hear a funny sound...Something was ripping out of the person they were with...in the subway tunnel you hear another sound close to the sound used in "The Cave" by those creatures, it was like ekolocation...There are alot of rumors saying this is not a remake of Godzilla, but a continuation...So with this movie think of Godzilla meets Alien meets The Cave meets Blair Witch, its going to be a must see!
Mapes on Dec 8, 2007
It's Mecha-Barbara Streisand. I saw the movie.
Brandon on Dec 10, 2007
Stop it at 1:43. You see a crazy blue still for like a split second. I'm pretty sure it's some government experiment story or else the wouldn't have shown the part with the guys in chem suits and the expanding girl.
Mike on Dec 12, 2007
When there all hidding in the shop the man says have you seen my son robby that reminds me alot of war of the worlds. It probly just a coincidence or is it.
Robet harwkins on Dec 15, 2007
Well from what I understand the monster is known as Cthulhu. It is a mix between a squid and something else. It is green, has wings, claws, and a squid head. and that thing about the women mutating or whatever, well the cthulhu has folowers called Cthulhi, they have a physical simility with Cthulhu himself, but are of far smaller size. So in the movie, i'm guessing cthulhu mutates people into his followers. thus for making cthulhu a parasite. If u want to read up on cthulhu then visit this website http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cthulhu.
shawn on Dec 15, 2007
ok the thing that gets me the most is the soldier whos's face is pixalated can someone explain that why is he hidden like that enough of the monster figure that out and you might figure out the movie.
ed on Dec 23, 2007
...Does nobody think it's weird that the statue of liberty's head EXPLODES off? Correct me if I'm wrong, but your usual giant monster wouldn't normally blow up a statue. So either the guys who worked on that scene got a little showy, or this monster is mechanical. I myself am all for the bear thing though. But see, they aren't your ordinary bears. These ones have gained access to bullet-proof vests. Dun dun dun......What does this mean exactly? It means the movie is meant to show just who is at the top of the food chain.
Keawn on Dec 23, 2007
ya those shadows are creatures, they are government doctors in lab suits. but what happens to the lady looks messed, like she gave birth to a creature or something.
sean on Dec 31, 2007
There will be NO monster in this movie. Mark my words!
JaMaJ on Jan 1, 2008
its Chuck Norris...duh!
Derek on Jan 2, 2008
actually.....J.J. abrams got the idea for a mnster when he took his son to Japan and saw a bunch of godzilla toys...it made him think america needs its own mosnter..and not king kong...king kong's adorale...thats what JJ said in an interveiw...
kyle on Jan 16, 2008
rolf....go to google.com and go to images type in "colverfield monster" then it will come up with a laviation is my idea....when you look at the picture it has a whale body and a whale tail...also has parasites like a whale =P and it could has "tenticle" arms that hold it up =P it could have grabbed onto the statue of liberty's head then it broke of the stature and it chucked it toward the city
Connor Glynn on Jan 17, 2008
It's Ellen DeGeneres.
