Old School 2 Script Ready, Moving Forward

A sequel to Old School has been in talks for quite some time, originating last year while director, Todd Phillips, was promoting his other film School for Scoundrels. As of last September Phillips said he was working on a script. The latest update is that he's finished the script and now producer Ivan Reitman has it in his hands to try and get it made.

From an interview over at Rotten Tomatoes:

"I have in my briefcase a new draft of the screenplay, I got last night," Reitman said over the weekend. "I haven't read it yet. I'm going to read it on the plane. So yeah, we very much want to do it. We hope we can corral the entire cast because it was written by the same writers, will be directed by Todd Phillips as before."

Reitman is confident that he can get all the old guys back together.

"I wouldn't want to recast that. I think the strength of a movie like 'Ghostbusters' and 'Old School' is the charm of those people together."

Let's hope he can pull it off, because an Old School sequel I'd much rather prefer than the terrible Van Wilder sequel last year or many other unnecessary sequels.
